Fred G Posted April 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 19, 2009 This was my first time fanning or even riding the SIR. I spotted this work train at Clifton and got off the train for some photo fun. Afterward I rode again, this time all the way to Tottenville and then back to St George for the ferry trip back. I'll come back some time for more fanning but until then, enjoy these highlights: One of these locomotives is ex-LIRR, and I think it's this one. some other random shots: album here Thanks for looking. Fred G Posted April 19, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted April 19, 2009 Great stuff like always Fred. Thanks, Julio! Nice shots fred! =) Thank you, Mark. Beautiful Man! What happened to the new BL20G's? Thanks, Z. I hear the BL's aren't done teething yet. They postponed the ERA trip because of that, and also because they needed this Alco on a work detail, in this case ballast. Great shots Fred, my favorite is the second to last one. Thanks, nycbusfan!

metsfan Posted April 20, 2009 Share #11 Posted April 20, 2009 Nice stuff! I also hear the new locos are still being acclimated to the humid coastal air and other stuff, i'm sure we will see them in action soon. That old loco will be moved off the island by barge once all 4 of the new locos are up and ready. - A

I'd heard same and to expand a bit, an ERA tour was postponed because the new locos aren't ready and that this Alco was needed for this MOW duty.
