Harry Posted May 7, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 7, 2007 Published: May 6, 2007 A Bronx man died early yesterday after he was found motionless and bleeding at the Bowling Green subway station in Lower Manhattan, the police said. Officers initially suspected that the man was homeless and that he had been stabbed. But they later said that a stent in his chest had probably ruptured, and that he lived in the Bronx and was in his 50s. The police did not release his name yesterday afternoon, and the medical examiner’s office was trying to determine the cause of death. The police were called about 5:15 a.m. when someone spotted the man on the northbound platform. Emergency workers could not revive him, and he was pronounced dead at 5:28 a.m. The discovery disrupted service on the No. 4 and No. 5 lines, with trains in both directions bypassing the station until 11 a.m., when normal service was restored.
