INDman Posted April 29, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 29, 2009 So far this is what I know the different hard hat colors mean: Light blue- Track dept. Yellow- signal Green- station Grey- electrical Orange- RTO flagging White- supervisors Dark blue- car equipment Red- infrastructure Now the question I have is what department are MoW workers with lime green hard hats from? I have only seen then a few times and I know they are not contractors. Every time I see them, they are too far away for me to see what it says on the back of their hard hats. Here they are at work. Forget the exact name of the department. (The color is really lemon yellow).
INDman Posted May 2, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted May 2, 2009 Thanks, another person has said they might be Transit Electro Mechanical Maintainers but was not 100% sure. For some reason, they seem to be what every employee I know knows the least about.
metsfan Posted May 3, 2009 Share #4 Posted May 3, 2009 Fiber optics would be for the train display and control stations situated throughout the system, as well as other data networks. - A
INDman Posted May 3, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted May 3, 2009 I'm guessing they work on the security system that transit messed up. http://www.nypost.com/seven/04282009/news/regionalnews/mta_a_tech_wreck_166543.htm
metsfan Posted May 3, 2009 Share #6 Posted May 3, 2009 Perhaps. I think though that it's used for data & station to station communications. - A
