80 NY politicians onboard to block MTA fare hikes

 

The revolt is growing.

 

Eighty state legislators now say they are opposed to the MTA's planned fare and toll hikes.

 

The list of opponents is a mixed bag - including Assembly Democrats representing cities and suburbs, and Senate Republicans from Long Island and New York City.

 

Despite the groundswell of opposition, Gov. Spitzer has remained silent on the hike.
