Nabinut Posted May 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 16, 2009 Found this thing...in Baltimore today. It's owned by one of the local charter outfits:
metsfan Posted May 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 16, 2009 Self propelled trackless streetcar/trolly. They are quite popular for charter events such as weddings and other social events. Some of these have current collection equipment, but none that i've ever seen in person. - A
Nabinut Posted May 16, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted May 16, 2009 From the sound of the engine, it's a former MCI 102A3 (with a 6v92)

Fan Railer Posted May 17, 2009 Share #5 Posted May 17, 2009 From the sound of the engine, it's a former MCI 102A3 (with a 6v92) that would explain the triple axle chassis
INDman Posted May 18, 2009 Share #6 Posted May 18, 2009 That is a bus plain and simple. I'm sorry but that is not a trolley by any strech of the word, and I should know as I have spent some time working on real trolleys up in CT. I do have to say that this one is alot bigger then the ones NYU has in the city and the Prospect Park "trolley".
metsfan Posted May 18, 2009 Share #7 Posted May 18, 2009 I understand this may have been constructed from an MCI 3 axle bus, however i jus wanted to make it clear that trackless trollies can vary between less "trolly" and more bus, and very trolly-esque and not at all looking like a bus. - A
gmnewlook Posted November 7, 2009 Share #8 Posted November 7, 2009 Found this thing...in Baltimore today. It's owned by one of the local charter outfits: I think it's the same one that used to run in Montreal by Autobus Connaisseur. They had some Orion Is that rebuilt to look like old trams too. http://busfanplace.com/view.php?pict=conntram.jpg http://busfanplace.com/view.php?pict=conntram108.jpg http://busfanplace.com/view.php?pict=conntram2.jpg
