Please excuse the poor audio quality and my immaturity back then. All shots were along the Jingguang and Tonghai Railways in Central-North China. The overnight service is strongly recommended to everyone as it provides more than enough room and comfort. Just take the express trains with soft sleepers!

The Z-series trains are the non-stop ones, right?

 

I took an overnight train from Beijing to Xi'an (and another from Xi'an to Beijing) in summer 2005. I believe only one stop was made in Shijiazhuang. It took about 14 hours in total.

Yes, the Z series trains are nonstop trains. In fact all of them only have Soft sleepers. I believe the one stopping at Shijiazhuang is a T series and it carries Soft and Hard sleepers in the same train.
