CPBO Posted June 12, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 12, 2009 A baby girl was born on an MTA bus in Brooklyn this morning, the second day in a row that a New York City Transit vehicle became a makeshift maternity ward. The mother delivered the baby around 10:30 a.m. on board an M61 bus at Greenpoint and Manhattan Avenues. Another quick-thinking woman on board the bus helped deliver the baby, transit officials said. Operator Jose Pena immediately called his supervisors, who were able to call an ambulance to the scene. Just yesterday, a woman gave birth to a girl on an R train at Whitehall Station. The mother and child were brought to Woodhull Hospital. Bus No. 9481 was brought to the Grand Avenue Depot for a wash. nypost
