Update:  I went in for 2nd drug test today. Got there at 7 was done by 9:30. Not very crowded like it was back in Oct. I was told I would be contacted via email for medical. Glad this part is over. Its been a looong nine months waiting. I hope this is the beginning of the end of the wait.

brooklynborn  best of luck to you. I thought it was very strange that after your second drug test it took so long to hear back but it looks like all is good. Please keep us posted.

If your address hasn't changed since you first applied to take the exam it's probably still good. If you changed addresses I think you will need to notify the mta. Scroll back some pages, somebody recently wrote about updating contact info. Also there are some phone numbers that were given on this thread a while back to check with dcas and a direct number for someone at the mta who handles track workers. Maybe someone can repost them if they see this.

Yes, took drug test on Oct 7. I heard a lot of people were called in for the drug test early. I think maybe they were trying to see if a large amount of people would be eliminated right away. Make sure all of your contact info is up to date.

Hello to everyone, congrats to everyone called for the medical. I took the drug test back in early October, it expired on Jan 7. So far nothing new. I see that some others already took their second drug test. I'm #72x  I know that's a lot higher number than those that recently went in for their second test, but I was wondering why would they have called me in for the first drug test if they are not near my list number. I know I'm probably a bit impatient now because my current job is not looking so good. I checked with DCAS and the message says i'm on an outstanding certification.           Good luck to everyone next week.

I went in on 10/6 to take the drug test, but had to return the next day to take it after paying a pending ticket. I remember the lady behind the counter telling me not to waste too much time because at the end of that week they would not be processing anymore track workers for a while. In fact she called someone on the phone to verify this. She also said many many people were becoming ineligible for various reasons, but I think mainly she was trying to say they failed the drug test. I'm # 72x

  Quick question, after completing track school, training, etc are you assigned a permanent starting place like a yard or something like that.

I live north of the city so my best hope would be the Bronx. If you are assigned somewhere not so convenient is it possible to transfer at a later date?
