How can I find out for sure if a pending ticket that hasn't gone to court can cause me to be put on hold? If that's true I'll tell my attorney to not delay or postpone it and after the verdict I can just take a driver safety course to wipe out the points....

Transit wants you to take care of all traffic violations and parking tickets before you are hired. The employment center can pull your driving record right away. They will find out even if you don't tell them on the pre-employment paperwork. Get it taking care of when you can. You got a least a year until you get your score.

As MTA Traveler said, mta has direct acces to your driver abstract..... they see everything. Get it taken care of asap. They don't care if you were guilty of speeding. They just don't want to hire you and then during your probation/traing you have to take off to go to court. Also after you get hire and then you get to much points on your license, they would have to fire you anyway.

just spoke with my attorney and he said he can postpone until later speeding ticket for three years starting now so I'm good, and he probably can shave off a few points

Gotti, looks like we might run into each other on the 11th of June as well. I bet I have the longest drive out of anyone though, coming ALLLLL the way from Southeastern Massachusetts for this dream job. This is my one shot. I'd rather go down swinging, and strike out then never get a chance to bat at all. And who knows, maybe. Just maybe I will hit a Homer and do well and get a call back somewhere on down the line. Betting on myself for a change.

 

Looks like a lot of us are for the June 11 at Midwood exam. Oooohhh this is going to get exciting REAL quick. Lol

 

Are you guys getting excited yet? I am! I think I will head to my public library and get some freshening up on Reading Comprehension and some math questions like Train A leaves at such and such time, Train B leaves at such and such time. At which time will they meet each other along the route? I HATE those!

Hey congrats gotti109. I told u bro that u could do it. RTS training is when they take all of the people that made it on day 7 and everyone test drives the RTS for like 15to20 minutes. Then u wait for the ones that make it on day 10 to hop on the RTS and take there turns driving it. So by next week you'll be going back to zerega for GI (General Information) day and that's where the union comes and talks to the class and some health insurance people as well. The end of that day you get to pick your depots for your line training. Congrats once again bud!

That's exactly what happened today... I drove the RTS for like 30 minutes and just sat in the bus for the rest of the day while the others drove

I'm not going to say its easy... But do able.... You got to watch out for pedestrians cars etc while safely moving the bus around crazy turns etc etc..... Just make sure you show your trainer that you could control the bus. Listen to what ever they say. They training you to become a defensive driver.... You could be a good driver, but they want a defensive driver

It was good.... A lot of paperwork!!!!!!! I'm exhausted from just that alone Lol.... I had mr olivier... Funny guy. Tmrw I report to JFK depot for my 7 day training.... Got my pass today. Since MTA bus company.... My pass. Color is green

@gotti109: I personally take the q44 cause I live right over the bridge. But like RTS4Life said only in the streets r u allowed to park. You gonna get ur bus pass tomorrow and the location to where u report for ur 7 to 10 days training u never know it could be at zerega.. Good Luck once again on the rest of ur journey. Breathe and like the ROCK says FOCUS... LOL!

Oh u MTA BUS then yea ur only allowed on buses. I believe OA gets the same treatment as TA. Also u can ride the express buses but I think TA and OA is not allowed. Lol. O well u ain't gonna be spending no more money on buses as long as u keep hold on that pass. Lol

@gotti 109: No doubt! I forgot to tell u that u could also ride the subway with that pass. Any questions u have I'll be more than glad to help during ur training. Do ur best not to hit the curbs and don't forget to breathe while ur behind the wheel. I'm serious bro breathe.

You think its the same... Cuz I'm with MTA bus company and I heard you could only use it for the bus alone.... Lol yeah I'm def going to take my time with everything, make sure I follow instructions, and most importantly breathe in and out clear my mind

Thank you! It went pretty well. The DMV examiner made me skip a lot of steps cause each one of us gets 45 minutes to get tested. You get the bus pass at the end of day 1 of orientation. Then day 2 you report to the depot they tell u to and be there b4 ur report time. Take that book with u and read it from cover to cover. Lol

Hey people I'm finally an official MTA employee cause I passed my DMV road test today. THANK GOD! Now I just gotta keep my nose clean for a year and I'll be good. I'd like to thank everyone on this forum especially the veteran B/O's that shared there knowledge with me and others that are looking to become city B/O's. Thank you!!!

Nope. One driver told me we'll get it like in a month or 2 and when we do get it most of it ain't the size u were actually measured 4. Smh!

I went to zerega today for nothing. I guess they don't do pre road test anymore cause they send me right back to the depot I'm doing line training at. I got a big day tomorrow with DMV and that's my road test at zerega. I'm ready to go.

Oh wow, so they told you to report to zerega only to find out you didn't have to go.... Lol that's backward....
