normally when coming straight to SI YOU you have to do line Training out of each depot plus do express training with union. Or maybe because you're a transfer they will put in depot available and you just do line Training there until you complete all lines for that depot. It could be either or.

make sure you get doctor form filled out. They could extend you 6 months also

Only for day 0 and 10 but you better drive, just get there 30-45 minutes early to find parking.

At first I was little nervous but this week I had three runs into city and I loved it. It's not so bad at night the only thing I have to get used to is getting to know all the stops. Oh and I love the new Prevost coach bus.

Passed DMV today, wasn't hard at all and now tomorrow I start line training in Staten Island at Castleton depot. Good luck to all those that started this week and all those coming up. It was very stressful but today it was so rewarding today completing this last hurdle.

I have my permit. I contemplated a long time about getting it. I was very confident in my driving skills and ability to learn things very quickly from has on training. There are people with license going to day 10 and some that have failed in the past trying again. I took the chance to learn the MTA way and did great.
Not to sound cocky but I am confident that with this training with MTA the DMV is a breeze.

You get about 1 hour and 15 minutes each day of driving. You start driving day 2. There is 4 students per bus and it is and 8 hour day. Every Depot has different starting times starting at 6 am to 8:30 am

I paseed today on day 9 good luck yall. Just follow everything they say and you should be fine. And remember it's training so just drive sloe slow slow. Watch those mirrors every 3-5 seconds and keep your 4-5 feet on right side.
I had Pena for first 7 days and then Quarless for 8 and 9 and they're both amazing.

Didn't qualify today so on to day 7, 8 and 9. GOT stuck in a cross walk on 14th street. Stupid 18 wheeler decided to not make the left at the last minute and stopped in intersection. THEN all he'll broke loose nobody let me make the left.
You can just put month and year if that's all you have, I did and it went through. Just don't leave any Month unaccounted for
I'm with Pena at Mother Clara Hale

Being placed on medical hold is not a big deal. The sooner your dr writes them a letter stating the condition you are in is safe to operate the bus, the quicker you will be removed from the hold. The MTA DR will review the letter, make copies of it to file it into your folder. Keep in mind, its their decision to determined whether or not the condition you have is safe to operate the bus.
Starting next year, they will start to check whether or not you have sleep apnea, which will be even more tougher to clear.
Can anyone specify what is exactly done during medical. I have an appointment Monday if all goes well I start training on the 31st
