Yes once you're hired, there is no reinstating, deferring or anything like that. You'll choose between school or the job.

Once you mail the pre-employment letter with decline appointment checked, you'll be considered "deferred" or off the list. You don't have to do anything else but to call DCAS to put your list number back on. Yes you can also visit them in person to do this. And that's right, DCAS doesn't deal with taking your number off the list, only putting it back in.

I was looking for this exact information also. Thank you!!!

You’d be surprised how many people fail the drug tests. As we are all aware, we get very little notice when they ask you to come in for processing. Some people will be caught unaware and be unable to “cleanse” themselves before the test.

    I believe it.

My brother in law and good friend are both TO's. My brother in law they called him on a Wednesday with class starting on Monday. My friend who was a conductor at the time was called on a Friday around 2pm and told if you want to be a TO you better get down here now and again the class started on  Monday.

Yup, I’m sitting at 11xx’s. We prob won’t hear anything until sometime next year, just a guess.

    1-300 - just for prov.

200-500 start of first OC class

    400-700- 2nd class

    600-900 3rd

    800-1100 4th

I’m estimating/give or take a hundred for folks that defer they’ll end up in the next class first, or some get disqual. that may push some folks up the line. Also depends how many classes they get through in a year may change our timeframe

I'm assuming this time next year for me.. but your right who knows how many people ahead will have declined the position, not respond to the letter or fail the drug test.

  4. Your previous employer isn’t allowed, by law, to disclose that you were fired. You would be voluntarily disclosing that information. Your previous employer is only allowed to disclose that you worked there and the time period for which you did.

  5. I got my notice of results in the mail a week or 2 ago. I scored a 91.667 with a lost number in the mid 1800’s. The letter stated that the list will be established in either June or July..

I was disappointed with these results before I saw that they were working through the list already and so quickly. If I am lucky enough to get called and offered employment I feel as I have sufficient time to be prepared.

What I did want to know is how are the medical benefits? Are they expensive? The ones I have now are great and are provided completely free by my company for myself and my family as well as a defined pension.
