Well I did hear that the B82 is supposed to go Artic after it goes SBS but that's a long way away I think.

Well, from what I heard..(because I left NYC), East New York Depot is now under construction for articulated busses... so im assuming the articulated buses will go for the B15 and B82/82SBS, but anything could happen.

As I see it, the MTA needs a top-up order of articulated buses, primarily for Brooklyn Division. This will cross over into route changes, but the Q58 would be the prime local bus needing artics, as at the "peak of the peak" in the morning, there can be buses as frequently as 4 minutes, and there are problems with over-crowding, especially between Ridgewood and Queens Boulevard.

As for problems with turns, I see that as being resolved by modifying the Ridgewood end as follows:

To Ridgewood Terminal, via Myrtle...no turn onto Putnam Avenue. Instead...remain on Myrtle, with the last stop being on the far side of Wyckoff, near Gates. (An additional stop would be added on the near side of Cypress Avenue, and then on the far side of St. Nicholas.) Then, left on Gates, left on Irving, and left on Palmetto to stand. (This would avoid the narrow Ridgewood Place for the Q58, but not the B26.) As for through traffic, it could be restricted between Ridgewood Place and Wyckoff Avenue, with through traffic on Gates Avenue.

The other route in Brooklyn that could warrant artics would be the B6. If Ulmer Park can't fit them, then maybe the Local and Limited should be split, with the B82 Local swapping to Ulmer Park in exchange for the B6 Limited, with the B6 Limited and B82 SBS sharing an articulated bus pool (local bus livery).

East New York Depot is already doing modifications for 60ft buses, what could happen is when B6 becomes SBS, send it over to ENY so they can share the buses between the two.

There’s something about this Dekalb Avenue SBS I really don’t like. We’re talking about a central part of Brooklyn where congestion is bad and fare evasion is rampant. If this dedicated SBS made a few stops in Ridgewood/Maspeth to the BQE into Downtown Brooklyn than I’d buy it. (I thought that was the original plan)

The biggest issue I have is the B6.

    A) Fully duplicating the B82

    B) There’s a portion of Glenwood Road that can be used exclusively for the B6 in Canarsie

    C) As East New York mentioned to me earlier is the dwell times along the 6.

When B6 becomes SBS, they should use artics, I dont know if UP depot is artic ready, but B6 needs artics because it really gets crowded

Hello Forum users, so one of my YT fanners chatted with me on Discord showing me this pic of a FB XD60 on Flatlands/E 105th St. being parked after pulling away from Pennsylvania Ave. I nearly thought it was a classic XD60 before he mentioned the series of the XD60 and the picture of it. We were asumming it was #6138 being tested on the B82 +SBS. I don't think it's true, and ENY Depot has not finished their modifications yet until next year. Or that can be a school tripper, on FB's ENY routes that is not artic ready. Is it mysterious or is it happening subtlly ?

Well, from my perspective, I saw this FB XD60 parked outside Pennsylvania avenue and Seaview avenue, when I saw it pulling away, what I did was ran to Flatlands avenue and East 105th St and almost missed the bus, but luckily I was able to take this picture when I had the chance, my hand was shaking cuz of how excited I was and the camera wasent focusing well so thats why it looked like this, I stopped at Flatlands ave/E 105th st and had like a 30 second brake, which I was assuming it was testing for the B82 +SBS+ when it just stood there, I was planning to run across the street but I would of died :( So I took it from this POV (Point of view) This bus turned on Flatlands Avenue and East 103rd street which the B82/B82 SBS usually turns so that was another reason why I think its a test for the B82 +SBS+.
