I just called mrs. Vargas and I have my drug test this thrusday 6/6. She said I should of received an email, phone call, text, and letter and I didn’t get anything. She said I can still come in on thrusday and just let them know I didn’t get the letter but if I didn’t call they would of skipped me. If anyone thinks they should of Received a notice by now about the drug test but didnt I would definitely call.

I’ll vent with y’all here as well ; I’m in for the June 10th class - I’m also in the hiring process for FDNY and today I received noticed they want me i for medical and psychological on June 11th 😩
Blessed to be in a stressful situation like this deciding what to do. At the end it’s obviously my call but I simply just wanted others people opinion on what they would do
the FDNY is the better job man, no question. You can do 2 24 hour shifts and be off the rest of the week I know a lot of firemen and they all have side gigs cause they have so much free time. They allow you to switch shifts with your co workers and everyone looks out for each other. When your not out on a call you can be working out at the house gym or taken a nap. It’s also a more dangerous job but everyone I know that’s in it wouldn’t change it for the world

Hey I seen in the forum that the school car was hard, how many in a class and how many actually make it through? I remember at my first PE she said if you fail one test your gone. Do a lot of people actually fail out?

I know we are tier 6, which they take 6% out our check for our pension, but what about medical and union dues? besides taxes and pension, what else do they take out of your paycheck? (I know you can op in for the 401k which they don’t match)
