Sorry for so many questions but just a few more. Lol. How long will be going to ps48? Is it throughout the whole training or just the first few weeks. Also are there parking garages, if so would you by any chance know the prices? Is it about $20 a day and do they get packed? Like if I get there at a certain time is there a chance they ran out of space?

First week you’re at the school after that u bounce around in the yards. U will come back to the school every now and then for testing and stuff but after that first week you are all over the place. As far as parking goes I’ve never had an issue just arrive an hour early and u will find something. Might not be close to the yard but you will find something.

For training, are polos allowed for training? The paper I have says that the dress code requires navy blue pants and a gray collard shirt.

Depends on your Tss. Our Tss let us wear polos but I’ve heard others only want you to wear button downs

+1 to everything you said except Pitkin yard being easy parking.

Jamaica yard is easiest to get in and find a spot.

Oh yea pitkin employees parking lot is always packed but it’s super easy to find a spot around the yard. I’ve never had a problem finding a spot outside. But as students u guys won’t be able to park in the lots anyways. Also all u guys going in for November and December sweaters and jackets with no attached hoods are enforced.

  4. School car is usually 7-3 with sat and sun off. On road days you will be 9-5 and when u have practicals coming up u will have one week with sat sun and Monday off but you will be in from Tuesday- Saturday (sat being your practical day). Word of advice to everyone coming in, it will be overwhelming the first couple of weeks there is a lot of material to cover and they will throw it at you all at once on top of trying to learn your signals and learning how to operate the train. All trains have their own personality. Parking sucks all all the locations except pitkin yard. So if you drive arrive an hour in advance and expect to walk a good distance to your location. On road days don’t expect to return to the place you met in the morning. Sometimes u end up in a different location. Good luck to everyone time flys so take advantage of every second you get because before you know it you’re on your own wondering how 7 months just came and went.

Nobody can say that for sure, but i can tell u B division is super short of train ops and conductors. I doubt they will just skip B division.

Both are short, but B division is shorter i would say.

I would assume that also especially with B having more lines. By the way it seems like everyone that made it to school car just disappeared lol. No updates anyone?

  6. When I went in for drug testing I saw a couple of 17xx’s on the sign in sheet but I don’t think any 17’s have been called in for medical yet. It’s all a waiting game now. One of the guys that just went thru was 16xx cert# 21x if that helps

  7. I always thought parking tickets just go away it’s kinda hard to remember parking tickets from when I was 18. Definitely confused here as well. And as far as yours it’s considered pending until it’s resolved. Happen to me when I went in for BO

Yes that was me! Sorry I haven't posted any updates. I've been super busy.

Got there at 6:30, out by 12. I did a vision test first, peed in a cup, then they hooked me up to EKG machine, and finally audio. After that I waited for the doctor to call me and approve me medically. Once she approved me, I got sent back to HR to take my picture for the metro card that they issue. Last but not least, they did my fingerprinting and sent me home. I am in the July 26th class, and the first day will be a Zoom orientation. Then on Tuesday we report in Brooklyn. I'm nervous and excited at the same time!

That’s awesome man thanks for the information. Definitely looking forward to this call. Can’t wait!
