If they call you for the physical they're putting you in the next class, or one in the very immediate future as the physical/drug tests are only valid for a limited time. Make sure you guys stay on top of your signals&defs (you gotta pass a signal name exam with all 134 on it for AC book of rules) and know the whistle/buzzers/handsigns verbatim-ish before day one of class. It's a lot of new information and you don't want to be playing catch-up on old material. Good luck with the process.

Thank you!  I’m on a pretty good pace right now with the whistler/buzzers etc.  I’ve been reviewing the signals/defs too but I could probably put a little more time into the signals to be safe.  Appreciate the advice!

Yea I didn’t really consider that I would have much of a chance until my HR rep gave me that date like a week ago.  Sent the few things medical needed so just waiting at this point 

Hey everyone… anybody in here that passed the S/D test on April 20th?   Think it was 7 of us.  Curious where people are at in the process.  Had my medical/physical today in Mineola.  Hoping to get into the AC class the 29th.  GL to all 

Anyone else going to the signals/definitions overview the 16th?  Was supposed to go in December but couldn’t make it.  Just got invite/email yesterday for the one this month with an April 20th test date.

There was one December 16th.  I know because I got the invite to the overview but had a wedding that day.  Waiting to hear back on next overview as well.

I wish I went cus I knew it would most likely end early enough anyway and of course it did.  But the HR woman who called me made it like it wasn’t a big deal at all to reschedule for something like that.  Hopefully I hear back soon.

Yea it’s a really tough situation and I really need to move this process along and give myself a chance but HR wouldn’t confirm over the phone that it would end earlier on even though a bunch of informed people including you have told me otherwise.   My friend whos worked for railroad for a long time gave me a couple of important dates in the new year I guess for the AC class so I’m hoping that will give me some sort of estimate of when another overview could be.   It’s frustrating but going to have to give it a couple of months and will follow up if I don’t hear anything.  Back to the waiting game hahah

HR called me this morning.   She was understanding

Thanks, it’s going to be tough but I’m just going to go and see what happens.  My friend said I can get there a little later.   If I have to miss some pictures then I have to.  They haven’t responded to my email asking what I should do so I just sent another rsvp yes.  Really frustrating situation but it is what it is.  Hopefully my friends understand.

Just to add- I have to be in Holbrook at 11am so doesn’t seem like it’s possible for that day to work unless I was able to leave early.  Not sure how this would work 

I was at the open house on November 20th in Babylon and got the email regarding the overview.  Of course it’s the one day there is an issue (wedding/in wedding party).  Still waiting to hear back from the woman at HR on how to move forward.  Has anyone dealt with a similar situation where they couldn’t attend the SD overview they got invited to?  Thanks!

Thank you!   I’ve been constantly checking my email lol.  I didn’t consider the burning out aspect of the studying.  That’s certainly something for me to consider.   

Hi!  Trying to read up on different things.  So I went to the recruitment event in Babylon on November 20th and passed the tests + did the interview.   Do a majority of the people that get through the recruitment event hear back about the signals and definitions overview?  I’m just trying to figure out if I should start seriously looking into some of the definitions etc.  thanks!
