in the next few years, there will be a large exodus of senior RTO personnel. They did a massive hiring push in the early 2000s, and those guys are hitting retirement. and the vast majority of them are gonna take it. 

 

So transit is going to be desperate for bodies in the not-too-distant future. If you are called in the next six months or so, there is a greater than zero chance you will have an outright pick job (not necessarily the one you want) before you hit top pay. 

 

If you were already hired and are reading this, the possibly skyrockets.

You can also use Quizlet to prepare for the test, I took 2610 exam it had 80 questions. Most were basic electrical questions, reading comprehension and math, they even give you a calculator if don’t have any too. But spend time preparing and take your time doing the test. The higher you score the better your list number. They start calling people to come in 1-500 base on ur number 

Does anyone know what list number they are up on this exam… are if there up  coming classes being scheduled

Sounds good bro, on my drug test form it said signal too, I guess that is the department that really needs people. If all goes well we might be in class together…hopefully they call us for next month.

i called them and they told it should be few weeks to a few months, I was told i missed the last class. The classes usually take 4-8 weeks depending on what electrical department your in. You know the mta is so slow in their hiring process. So it might be 3-4 months before you even get offically hired and start classes.

Ok kool, I sent an email today checking on the same thing to see when is the next set of classes…I’ll let you know if I get any feedback in the coming days. By the way did you get your list number?

Have you heard anything abt any classes possibly starting?. I received a letter with my list number and exam results on in it.

I knw have work in signal before some where else as an assistant, so I have a littte experience so am not worried abt the third am concerned abt how serious RWP is treated in the tubes under ground and how you clear up when a train is come and all that good stuff. I heard that helpers mainly flag..a friend a mind to me apply TEH, then spend a year get permanent and then take the test for signal.

Last year they added Car Maintainer Trainees, so thats the 9th department you could end up in. So basically nothing is set in stone for your department until after your done the 4-10 week training at the school, you can only transfer to another department after one year.

 

I didn’t realize they put u in such a long training period. I wonder how people they waiting after the drug, the day I went it was pack. I don’t mind going into signal…I heard that’s where the money is been maked
