When i was coming back to work from lunch I saw 2 training buses for the n78 both making lefts on E. Bethpage road at around 12 45.

Sounds like a typical n74 trip, lol. Now the N79 I'm surprised about, perhaps the bus before it was running late.
The one before it is supposed to come at 5 50 i dont know if within that 5 mins a train comes and a lot of people take the N79 then.

Geez I was on the N74 today and it was empty I took the 5 53 from Wantagh LIRR to Hicksville EMPTY 13 passengers including myself for the whole trip. The N79 I went on after had even less with 7 people at 6 45.

there was a big article on newsday.com how could NICE miss that?

Yesterday the 79 80 81 all had detours due to a parade on Broadway and ended next to a fair on East Barclay street. Why wasn't this listed on the website? Plainview road was closed at Park ave and so was Old country road. Northbound side of Broadway was closed with only one lane squeezing by southbound.

nope because its a turnoff for riders who barley ride a bus that comes once an hour that could use more riders. Why should there be no standees during rush hour?

Every morning I see a 79 on Manetto Hill road with standees there needs to be more service.Thank You. At least run the N78/79 Weekdays to Roosevelt Field supplemental the N24. I am sure there been bus bucnhing delays since the new setup started. Jericho Turnpike is often used an alternative when the Southern State has massive delays.
The N78/79 could have run every 20-30 minutes rush hour/weekday middays and every hour late evenings.

Right now they have it Local limited express if they had it Express Limited then Local it would be the best. The 22x gets good ridership I hear too. Not full, but its get more than the N6x.

I don't think 22x is that bad the way they Have It 22l From Hicksville is the fastest in my opinion. When I got on NICE N32 Far Rockaway at Lynbrook Station, one of passenger said MTA was better.
VMW, can you do for N22x?

24 is the best 15 mins enough time to make a transfer if you really are trying to catch the 79 take the 73 first because they interline. Today I found out the step up fee is still 75 cents from SCT to N79 which I think is stupid because now SCT is 2 and so it should be 25 cents for NICE.So they split the routes but the N24's don't even meet up with the N79's. The N22 seems to connect with the least waiting time.

Old country road in Plainview used to have half hourly bus service midday people don't want to wait so they pay 6 dollars west of 135 7 50 east of 135 and 9 or 10 east of Manetto Hill road. I called the Nice bus and spoke to the supervisor she said she can't hold the bus due to people in Hicksville needing to go to work too. Thats Bs because the 79 used to come later at 59 after.I bet. I see alot more cabs on the street now. It's amazing that some people are willing to spend $$ on cabs. It can be $10 or more just to go a few miles. This is playing out exactly the way Mangano wants, so his cabbie buddies make out like bandits. Of course not everyone has money for cabs. I refuse to ever take one, I'll walk 20 miles before I do.
I'm guessing the n79 ridership is down because of the transfer to the n24, which just like the n27, doesn't wait. I was up in the Greenvale area today, before the changes you'd see fairly full n27's pass by, now they are all empty. And these people at Veolia think they are "experts"

N79 is rapidly losing ridership I think during midday because people are resorting to cabs instead.

That right turn is hard it would be easier to let them at Central park road and then go from there or even Manetto DriveLuckily this only affects a couple of trips. Main Pkwy is no place for a bus.

My guess is sometime in the 90's because I know for fact when I was a little boy the N16 signs were always the same on Hempstead ave when I used to go over there when I was a little boy.I got a question. The Long Island Bus signs that are up and around the county now. When were they put up? I know the N43 was created in 2003 and those signs look different than the ones on the rest of the routes. So when were those signs put up around the county by the ?

I told them its not fair to wait an hour because you have bad drivers they said so what wait an hour!Taklng a closer look, the N24 is scheduled to arrive Hicksville at 11:34. Maintaining the same lateness (16 minutes) it would have arrived HIcksivlle at 11:50. N79 would leave 5 minutes late. I don't see the problem holding the N79 for 5 or 6 minutes compared to telling a N24 passener to wait 55 minutes for the next N79. The N79 is scheduled to arrive Walt Whitman at 12:21 and turnaround at 12:30, which can handle a 5 minute delay.

I got screwed today by the N24 it came to Roosevelt field at 1128 instead of 11 12, I missed the 79 at 11 45 and had an adventure getting a cab. I called they said we cannot hold the 79 its not fair to the people that are in Hicksville that need to go to work.

I missed out on the loaners I wasn't in town for a while so when I got home on December 1st I had no reason to ride the bus daily which limited my chances. What I thought was cool though was a city bus in Suffolk county which I saw a few times on the 79.

Very very random but, does anyone know where I can find photos or even a video of the LIRR concourse at Penn station before the 1993-1994 renovations? I would to see what it look like back in the day!
