Probably still not worth it yet since they're on a transit benefits account without a contactless option for now. The official reduced-fare OMNY would be the best way to go so waiting to fall is likely the best solution.
i have a edenred as my transit benefit that does do not contactless cards. i was able to add my edenred credit card as a default payment method for my omny account that i use with my physical omny card

I went to CVS in sunnyside on 41st and queens blvd to get the omny card. seem like there is a issue with 711 system. no problems at cvs

i went to two different 711, one on Thomson ave and the other on northern blvd. they have the cards in stock but are unable to activate it. They are unable to scan it on the register

The Q80 will carry pure air. Almost 80% of the ridership on the current Q47 south of Jackson Heights is along Calamus Ave/79st. Add to that no one wants to trade going to Jackson Heights for Grand Ave-Newtown . This route will bomb.
I am also in Middle Village and i take the Q47 bus to the 7 train for years. It is insane how crowded the Q47 bus get during the 5-6pm rush hours at the Jackson Heights train station. Its like packed tight standing room only and sometimes you need to wait for the next bus. its a shame the MTA is going to basically cut that route. its going to effect alot of people along Calamus ave area

living by atlas park in glendale, i am disappointed i am going to lose my 1 seat ride to the 7 train that i need to use to get to work. Kinda sucks. looks like i am going to have a fun journey taking multiple buses or multiple trains

I can add all of my other contactless cards and my correct phone numbers shows up. it is only when i add the edenred card i get a different text message number. it looks like it is the same as the bank phone number. in google pay it says if the contact info is not correct to contact the bank account. when i log into my edenred account online all of my phone numbers is correct there. so i am not sure which side has the wrong number

how do you add the edenred card? when i try to add it i get stuck at verify screen. the text message number is not mine and the call bank does not work

How does cross-honoring work?
Do the railroads have a way to swipe your MetroCard on platforms or the trains?
you show the conductor your metrocard, they do not swipe it

There has been a few times where I swiped my card and it would say “go” but the turnstile wouldn’t move. So I would swipe again thinking that it would allow me to go then but it would just say “Just Used”. Most of the time I would wait it out, annoyed of course. However this one time I was running late to class so I had decided to hop it cause I couldn’t afford to wait and I banged my leg on turnstile bar. Let me tell you, that pain is serious!
when this happens to me, i go to the token booth and tell them my situation. usually they unlock the gate

QT4L
- new route
- Rego Park/Forest Hills/Kew Gardens/Middle Village loop
- runs LFS
The only problem with this route is the narrow streets and one way streets on 78th Ave,73rd Place, 79th st, 85th St in Glendale/Middle Village.
If you look at google maps street view, there is no way to make a turn from cooper ave onto 79th st due to the underpass.
I love the idea, the only thing i would do is straighten the route and have it run along 80th st from Myrtle ave to Juniper Valley Rd

with the lost of parking spaces and garages under the train tracks, they will be lots of NIMBYism against this plan.

this is why they made bus routes longer and merged bus routes together

From my experience, a commute between Queens Plaza and Forest Hills was 12-13 minutes at best.
If the kept a route along 80th, then it could’ve followed the following route:
From Myrtle Avenue > 80th Street > Grand Avenue > Broadway > Jackson Heights/Roosevelt Bus Terminal.
Broadway can get clogged with traffic. the few times i ridden the Q53 bus from wood side, the traffic on Broadway was also very super slow making it seem like forever to reach Queens Blvd. Broadway does not need bus lanes.
Back in the day (like around 2015/2016ish), the Q47 had an amazing re-route that went from 80th st->Grand Ave->69th St to resume regular route. this avoided the narrow Calamus Ave and 79th St. I wish the MTA continued with this route, it made the route seemed a bit more straight and avoided narrows roads

You are trying to get him to be on board with this plan & nothing more... Stating that "he would have to walk after all", is a flippant response to the increased amount of walking & backtracking he'd have to put up with... Also, this notion that the , on average, is actually a 10 min. commute between those 2 points is a bit disingenuous.... Don't know how many times on here alone, where someone is making a point out of how much of a drag the QB express is & has been..... Again, if the guy prioritizes the , I'm not going to try to convince him that switching to another subway line would suit him better - even if it'll (supposedly) save him that much time....
i have mobility issues so the less the walking is better overall for me. I have done the walk from the E train along Queens Blvd many times and it is a good walk but it can be horrible during bad weather like snow storms and rain.
The only thing i hate about the E train is the annoying train traffic delays because it shares tracks with the F train. If there is a problem on the F train, it could also affect the E train too.

as a middle village resident where my daily commute requires the Q47 to the 7 train, i am very happy and excited for that the routes stays the same because that's the quickest way to get to the 7 train. the purpose reroute of the Q47 to flushing was very horrible and way out of the way
