  1. NEXT: It is 1987. Use this map to see the service at that time http://www.nycsubway.org/perl/caption.pl?/img/maps/system_1987.gif

The 53rd St Line is impassable between 5th Av and Queens Plaza. Also, no trains can terminate at Queens Plaza, and due to a previous GO trains cannot run on the track that connects crosstown to Queens Blvd, meaning (G) trains are terminating at Court Sq. Reroute the (E)  (F) and other lines as needed.

Yellow B and (N) to Jamaica 179 St via local.

    (E) train replaces (K) train or just suspend the (E) and increase service on the (K)

6th Av (S) runs between Broadway - Lafayette and Grand St

    (F) terminates at 57 St - 6Av

  2. No matter of what line the R62As are going.. One line must get the OTT's, and riders just have to deal with that.. What if (1) and (3) riders start to complain with R62's on their lines? What can be done? Nothing! The same applies to the (6). If (6) riders may dislike getting the old, (4) riders may also dislike it, but they just have to deal. Many lines have to deal with OTT's, they just ride on the train and do not complain. The train will bring you from point A to point B. Thats enough.

  3. NEXT:

Because of construction, no trains can pass through 145 Street (A)(B)(C)(D).

    (A) to 125 St

    (B) Suspended

    (C) to 125 St

    (D) Coney Island - 125 St via CPW LCL

    (D) Norwood - 161 St, Yankee Std

    (S) 207 St - 168 St

Shuttle buses between 168 St and 125 St

  4. NEXT:

Northern part of Roosevelt Island collapses; trains cannot pass through this area on the 60th St and 63rd St tunnels. 53rd St tunnel is fine.

    (E) QBL LCL

    (F) via 53St

    (G) to Forest Hills

    (M) to Broad St

    (N) to Lexington Av

    (Q)(R) to 57 St

    (S) Between Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza

  5.

    NEXT:

A switch malfunction at in the Montague Street tunnel causes all switches to be set in favor of Nassau Street. No southbound (R) trains can head into the tunnel, and no northbound (R) trains can reach Broadway. Reroute wisely, and good luck.

    (R) Forest Hills - Whitehall St

(J)(Z) Jamaica Center - Bay Ridge

  6. Next: A (5) train goes too fast on the Bowling Green Loop and derails. At the same time, the (S) platforms are being extended, so no trains can travel to or west of Franklin Ave. Trains CAN use the switches between Eastern Parkway and Franklin Ave.

    (2) to Eastern Parkway

    (3) to Times Square or South Ferry

    (4) to Brooklyn Bridge or Atlantic Av

    (5) to Atlantic Av

    (S) Flatbush Av - President St

Shuttle buses between President St and Atlantic Av

    (S) Junius St - New Lots Av - temporary free transfer between Junius St and Livonia Av (L)

Shuttle buses between Junius St and Atlantic Av - making all (3) stops between Franklin Av and Junius St

  7. One of the Transit Museum tracks is cleared (with such train stored elsewhere) to allow (C) trains to use the Transit Museum to turn in Brooklyn as (C) trains run in Brooklyn only from Hoyt-Schemerhorn Street-Euclid Avenue, stopping at Hoyt-Schermerhorn on the normally unused track/platform there.

Its better (and more realistic) run the (C) to Chambers St instead of the Transit Museum, isnt it?

    Next:

Due to separate rail conditions on the outer ("local") tracks at DeKalb Avenue in both directions, trains can only access the Manhattan Bridge in both directions from the bypass tracks (the "express," or tunnel tracks are not affected by this, and because of this emergency, 600' trains are permitted to use the (J)/ (Z) tracks via the Montauge tunnel between Broad Street and Essex and the Willamsburg Bridge to access the 6th Avenue line tracks if necessary).

    (B) Suspended

    (N) express in Manhattan

    (Q) via tunnel and local in Manhattan

Next: Due to water issues, 168 St (A)(C) is impassable.

  8. NEXT

Because of a mechanical problem, both downtown local tracks are unusable at W4 St.

    (A) Normal route

    (B) Suspended

    (C) Euclid Av - Chambers St

    (D) CPW local

    (E) express 34th St - Canal St

Single tracked shuttle on uptown local track from 23 St to Penn Station

    (F) via normal from 179 St to W4

via the (D) from W4 to Bay Parkway, 62nd St, or Coney Island

    (F) York St - Coney Island

    (M) to Broad St

Shuttle buses for East Broadway (F) and single tracked shuttle between Broadway Lafayette - 2Av

  9. NEXT:

The Brooklyn-bound (B)/ (D) track at Broadway-Lafayette is out due to a rail condition, however, all other tracks there are in normal operation.

    (B) via the (A) from W4 to Jay St then via Culver express to Church Av

    (D) to 2Av

    (G) Extended to Forest Hills

    (M) to Coney Island via West End

  10. This thread is very enjoyable when everybody here keep making what the title suggests...

I think its better we keep doing that instead of discuss who post or not a situation or if a situation could or not happen, or it may be closed and i guess nobody here wants that. Anyway, lets play instead of discuss it.

Next: Due to water issues, the Bowery Station (J)(Z) is closed.

  11. Due to a Major (MTA) project, the entire Bronx EL (2)(5) is being demolished and replaced. Reroute the (2)(5), and anything else you want long term.

If only the EL portion is being demolished i guess i can use tracks until 3rd Av.. so...

    (2) to 149 St - Grand Concourse, select trains to 148 St

    (5) to 149 St - Grand Concourse, some trains on (2) level and some on (4) level

  12. It's really unrealistic and foamy.

    NEXT

Due to police investigations, the uptown local tracks are impassable at 23 St (F)(M) and 23 St (C)(E).

    (A) Normal service

    (B) Suspended

    (C) Euclid Av - Chambers St

    (D) CPW local

    (E) Via express from Canal St to 34th St - Penn Station

    (F) Via express from W4 to 34th St - Herald Sq

    (G) Extended to Forest Hills

    (M) Some trains are rerouted to Chambers St, some trains make normal service on the express track with the (F)

  13. What if the whole QBL (E)(F)(M)(R) is suspended(yes that includes the Archer Avenue/Hillside as well) because of a ruptured sewer pipe and there was a G/O from Woodside (7) to Flushing-Main Street on ALL tracks and the 63rd Street Line is closed because of 2nd Avenue Subway work requiring the WHOLE Line to be closed.

And there was no (J)(Z) from Jamaica Ctr. to Bway Junction due to construction and then from Myrtle to Broad Street

and the (A) was suspended from the Rockaways/Lefferts Bl. to Euclid Ave. making the (A) terminate at Euclid.

also no Myrtle Av (M) service

Shutdown all the subway system. Go by bus or walking

  14. Next:

Work on the World Trade Center has knocked out the 8th Avenue line and Broadway-7th Avenue Local south of Chambers Street (the Broadway-7th Avenue express to Brooklyn is unaffected as is the Broadway Line via Montauge).

    (A) via the (F) from W4 to Jay St

    (R) Bay Ridge - Whitehall St

    (E) Jamaica Center - Chambers St; select trains via QB local

    (C) Suspended

    (M) Select trains to Chambers St

    (G) Extended and increased service between Forest Hills - Church Av

ps: where is the Orange (M) ?

  15. New situation:

Due to the rehabilitation of the passageway between (A)(C)(E) & (;)(D)(F)(M) 34 Street Stations, Penn Station on the (A), (C), (E), (1), (2), (3) is closed. LIRR platforms have been given seperate exit at NJ Transit platform, so just reroute subway lines.

    (E) via 63 St, via (F) to/from W4 St

Shuttle Buses provide alternative service between 42 St PABT and 14 St.

    (N) trains via Lower Manhattan and local on 4th Av.

    (;) Service is suspended

  18. I'm going out on a limb by saying this, but I think you'll know when the doors are about to close when the C/R says "Stand clear of the closing doors please" As for the R32s receiving door chimes I don't see that happening. Many passengers have gotten on and off trains without door chimes for a long period of time before they were even introduced to the system.

Actually, not having the chime could be an ADA violation. I know it's mandated for the new trains for those who don't speak English because "ding-dong" is universal for "get the f- out of the doorway". I'm not sure about the rehabbed ones though.

I agree with Lance. When i moved to NYC i had some problems with OTT trains, since sometimes they don't have clear announcements, mainly on the (C) trains. The door chime helps a lot.

  19. How are the R32's doors dangerous?

Sorry, i think i used the wrong word.. i mean.. i never know when the doors will close when i'm on the R32.. if i hear the door chime at least i know that i can't go in or out the train because the doors are closing.

    Anyway.. "dangerous" was a exaggeration
