  1. Service Change  Posted: 07/04/2015  6:06PM

Due to FDNY activity at Lexington Av/59 St, the following service changes are in effect:

r.png trains are running on the f.png line between 36 St (QNS) and Lexington Av/63 St in both directions.

Southbound r.png trains will run on their normal path from 57 St-7 Av.

There is no n.png train service between 57 St-7 Av and Queensboro Plaza in both directions.

n.png Shuttle train service will be provided between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza in both directions.

f.png, n.png and r.png trains are running with delays in both directions.

    Allow additional travel time.

Usually the (N) would get knocked off at 57th street and no service toward Astoria. They are providing a shuttle (N) service. The 60th street tunnel is having so many issues. They need to have a serious repair during the fastrack period.

  2. I disagree with having (N) trains make local stops southbound between Canal and Atlantic for this situation. Riders can take the (R) at Jay St-MetroTech and change at Atlantic for Coney Island-bound service.

I thought that too because it is a waste of time with the (N) making stops. Why they couldn't have shuttle (F) running from Stillwell to 4th Ave-9th street. That way still have some connections with other lines. They should deploy shuttle buses by now since it is height of rush hour.

  3. Due to Con Edison related problems affecting signals at Jay St-MetroTech, the following service changes are in effect:

There is no f.png train service between 4 Av-9 St and Jay St-MetroTech in both directions.

Some southbound f.png trains are running on the c.png line from Jay St-MetroTech to Euclid Av.

Some f.png trains are running on the d.png line between W 4 St-Washington Square and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in both directions.

Some southbound f.png trains terminate at 2 Av.

There is no g.png train service between Church Av and Bedford-Nostrand Avs in both directions.

Some southbound n.png trains are running on the r.png line from Canal St to DeKalb Av.

    Expect delays on the a.png, c.png, d.png, f.png, g.png, n.png and r.png trains in both directions.

For service into Brooklyn customers can also take the b.png, d.png, n.png and r.png train service.

As an alternative, customers are advised to take the B57 and B61 bus service.

    Allow additional travel time.

It is a mess. Especially they are rerouting some of the southbound (N) via the (R) line. I assume to provide service at Jay St- Metrotech so riders can use the (N) to Coney Island.

  4. New fastrack posted:

On week of Sept 14 and 21st. No (F) between Briarwood and Jamaica 179th street. (shuttle bus alternative).

On week of Sept 28th and Nov 2nd No (E) between Jamaica Center and Union Turnpike. (shuttle bus alternative). * Not sure if the (E) will be rerouted to the (F) after Union Turnpike. Usually they do that when there is work after Union Turnpike.

Nov 9th and 16th. Upper West Side fastrack. (A) doesn't operate north of 59th street, (D) runs 2 sections, and (B)(C) ends early.

  5. I was on the E train around 12:30pm I got on 5th ave/ 53rd street and wanted to get off at Court Square for the (7). The train moved fine til we got stopped 2 times at the 53rd street tunnel. The train stopped for about 10 minutes 450 feet away from Court Square station! I was on 1st car and saw the exit sign "450 feet away exit". Had to wait for the (M) to move ahead forward.

  6. This is unique service delay.

There was a building collapse at 322 Broadway, Brooklyn. The (J) and (M) trains are operating at 10 mph between Marcy and Hewes in both directions. I assume to prevent more vibrations and causing more damage.

*for some reason I cannot copy and paste from the website.

  7. New wording:

    Service Change  Posted: 05/29/2015  3:20PM
Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy bound l.png trains are terminating at Myrtle Av, due to a train with mechanical problems at Wilson Av.

    Allow additional travel time.

The BMT Broadway Line is always messed up anyway.

The MTA needs to focus fixing the Broadway line. Especially north of 57th street. I know that in July the "Fastrack" will cover the Broadway line but not enough.

  8. C.png Trains run express in both directions between 145 St and Canal St

Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Jun 27 - 28

    For 135, 116, 110, 103, 96, 86, 81, 72 Sts, take the D.png* instead.
Transfer at 145 St, 125 St or 59 St-Columbus Circle.

For 50 and 23 Sts take the D.png or E.png. Transfer at 42 St or 14 St.

For Spring St, take the E.png instead. Transfer at W 4 or Canal Sts.

*This detour has taken into account additional planned service changes.
    _______________________________

Interesting that the (D) is local and seeming to run on 8th avenue. It haven't yet shown the details on the (D) route. (A)(C) is express in both directions.

  9. Due to signal problems at 49 St, the following service changes are in effect:

Southbound q.png trains are bypassing 49 St.

Southbound n.png and r.png trains are running with delays.

Some southbound r.png trains are running on the f.png line from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av to W 4 St-Washington Sq, then running on the b.png line to DeKalb Av.

Expect delays on southbound b.png, f.png and m.png train service.

    Allow additional travel time.

I don't get why they have to knock the (R) to 6th ave?

  10. Service Change  Posted: 05/26/2015  8:07AM
Due to switch problems at Forest Hills-71 Av, e.png, f.png, m.png and r.png trains are running with delays in both directions.

Some 71 Av bound m.png and r.png trains terminate at Jamaica Center- Parsons/Archer or Jamaica-179 St.

    Allow additional travel time.

I wonder is that a good thing or a bad thing? Extended to 179th street and/or Jamaica Center. I know the (R) extends to 179th on few weekends. At least they are not cutting any services off.

  11. Due to switch problems at Canal St, the following service changes are in effect:

c.png train service is suspended between Euclid Av and 168 St in both directions.

Southbound f.png trains are running on the a.png line from 42 St-Port Authority to Jay St-MetroTech.

Some southbound f.png trains terminate at Church Av

a.png, c.png, e.png and f.png trains are running with delays in both directions.

    Allow additional travel time.

Not again! I think the switches at Canal Street cannot handle many trains right now.

I think the (A) is just serving all stops in the meantime. It's actually a good thing if they keep the issue to the (A)(C)(E) alone rather than spreading to all the other lines.

The problem is the (F) southbound is running on the (E) and the (A) line due to construction.

  12. Due to switch problems at Canal St, the following service changes are in effect:

c.png train service is suspended between Euclid Av and 168 St in both directions.

a.png, c.png, e.png and f.png trains are running with delays in both directions.

    Allow additional travel time.

Still ongoing. What a mess for the Upper West Side.
