  1. I was put on medical hold in november. I had to get a note from my therapist saying i wasnt homicidal/suicidal, but she was in italy for 2 weeks. When i finally got the letter in mid december i was about to close on a co-op i bought and my lawyer advised me not to "quit my job" until we closed on the co-op so i held on to the letter until dec 28th. Then i had to schedule an appointment with the MTA psychiatrist to get evaluated, and for whatever reason they couldnt schedule me until this past tuesday, the 15th. Then i went back to get officially cleared today and got the bad news

So for almost 2 months you were on hold, and the MTA took it upon their own liberty to remove you from the list because you took too long for medical hold. Well that isn't fair.. I mean, did you atleast contact the MTA and let them know what the delay was? I mean, because now I'm on medical hold as of January 14th.. All I gotta do is a get a letter from my doctor.. but when I went back to MAC 1 to ask my Dr questions, she told me that I now have to wait some time while my body becomes used to the insulin that my regular doctor told me to take, it might take a couple of weeks for that.. Should I be fearful that they'll remove my name from the list as well?

That MAC Center is no joke.....

Yea, I was also told by the lady behind the desk that the DR that I have is the worst one there! FML!!!! lol

  2. Well, i got some pretty shitty news today. I got cleared from medical hold then found out that DCAS took my name off the list without permission because i took too long to get off medical hold. So i went immediately to 1 Centre St to get my name restored to the list. All of you will be senior to me, as they said i wont be called until march or april. This means no jan 28, no feb 25, no mar 25 for me :(

How long did you take to get off medical hold? I just got put on medical hold on Monday, how long do I have before they remove me?

  3. so how did it go on monday???

Lucky me, I got placed on hold because I'm diabetic.. So now I'm running  around like a chicken with no head trying to get blood tests done and paperwork filled out. I'm not on insulin but now my doctor tells me I'm going to need it.. who knows where this is going to end now.. :(

  4. Straight from school car: the next classes for t/o are Jan 28, Feb 25 and Mar 25. As of today nothing scheduled after March. They are also still short on instructors. Also some classes are going to be pm shifts not am. Good luck to everyone.

Well that makes sense, I just received a call today from the MTA to report in on Monday morning for the medical/final processing.. So yes, they are starting to call people to prep them up for the upcoming classes, which is a good sign.. My list number is between 325-335 but I was called in late so I honestly don't know what numbers are going to be called.. if anyone else has any information.. please let us know..

Traintrain From what im seeing here the ones in a "BETTER" position with the MTA usually do more reading here than responding to posts...

So does that include you? Mr 2,640 posts? lol j/k

  5. My list number is over 500 for TO. I was called in December 13th for the drug screen. Waiting fo the phone call, it's been about four weeks, driving me crazy!! How long of a wait is normal?? Like everyone else, looking to move forward. "Please stand clear of the closing doors"

I also went in that week for the drug test, on the 12th.. My list number is between 325-335.. I haven't gotten a call from the MTA either. All I got was a letter from DCAS to go in this past Monday so I can verify my veterans credit(Which I did). I'm also still waiting for a call or a letter.

  6. I am in the 220 range. My original drug test was 10/17 and I got called in for final processing roughly 5 weeks later. I am certain that at least a couple of those weeks were a deferral on account of Sandy. Your list number is roughy 100 numbers above mine and according to your data the last hired was 350. My assumption is that 2 out of 5 that got the letter to come down for drug test never showed because they were no longer interested. Another 1 out of 5 showed up and for various reasons did not qualify or were deferred for medical . That leaves roughly 40 individuals that qualified between my number and your number. Actually on second thought.. My estimations are just a bit off. There have been 3 O/C classes since October. 40 students per class.. If last person hired was 350, then that means that 1/3 or 33 percent of original eligibles were sworn in as of 12/17. That does not account for those on medical hold and people like yourself who are awaiting clearance for military credit. I think that you are right about where you should be in the process. No?

Great estimations bro.. So what your saying is that they're basically waiting for those who are on medical hold, etc.. to clear up their situations? Which doesnt make since cause they could keep going down the list.. or maybe it wont be fair for those who are on hold..
  7. The MTA will verify your veterans credit themselves. This is just the city double checking for themselves had already started schoolcar when I recieved my notice to go down to 1 Centre St for verification last November.

So did a friend of mine I spoke with yesterday. He told me that once he was in schoolcar, then he recieved a notification to go to 1 centre street. However, my situation is different.. I took my drug test 12/12/12 and tomorrow will make 4 weeks.. but no call yet to report to the medical.. im positive i didnt fail my drug test because I dont do drugs.. so WTF is the hold up? lol.. maybe im just being impatient..
  8. Thursday? Ok.. cool.. I just came back today from 1 centre street. I had to go with some proof of my military service to claim veterans credit. I asked them how long it would take for them to verify the records and they told me that they had to send out the prints to the FBI, then wait for them to reply.. So I honestly don't know how long it'll take for MTA to receive information from DCAS that my veterans credit has been verified. I called the MTA employment desk today just to verify that my contact information was correct and they quickly sent me to a voicemail where I had to leave a message and am currently waiting for a response.. I'm just curious as to what the status is of my drug test and basically what number are they up too? Cause I'm in the range of 325-335 and all I've gotten accomplished was a drug test and verification of veterans credit so far.. meanwhile another person posted earlier that the last person was appointed was list# 350.. WTF is going on here?

  9. January 12th is a Saturday. I sincerely doubt that date is accurate. It would more likely be Monday the 14th? However, and not that everyone that is going through the process is on this forum, but no one has confirmed being called back down for final processing since mid December.

I had to turn down assignment for 12/17 due to some obligations, so I was removed from the list, but had my list number re activated on 12/21 through DCAS. I got a letter last week to go down this week for pre employment test and drug test again. My original drug test was done on 10/17, so it is still good, however I will call and find out if I still need to go back for drug test this week or if I can just wait to be called for final processing again. Either way, I will try to find out when the next class is if I go down to 130 Livingston

Ideally, assuming all goes well with my medical and all, I would prefer to start in February so that I can resign from current job with plenty of notice

What day this week do you have to come down to Livingston Street?
  10. With that list# and what u say they certified it means ur info is with the MTA so they have ur info and will call u when they reach ur list#

The 350 appointed should be last person hired which sounds abt right..I remember seeing ppl in the 320s goin down for pre employment physicals and interviews

    Happy new year to all!

Has anyone been called down to Livingston for final processing? I went down on Dec 13th for d/t but haven't heard anything yet. Just curious cause I have heard that some agencies are going on a freeze come February.

I'm in the 325-335 range and I went down for my drug test on 12/12/12.. haven't heard anything from the MTA yet however I did recieve a notice from DCAS to go down to 100 Centre street to validate my veterans credit. I have to go down this Monday.. does anyone else have to go there? Also, is this the reason why I haven't been called down for the medical/final processing yet?

  11. is there any possibility that the January class would start before Jan. 15th? im on medical hold for antidepressants and i have to see the MTA psychiatrist just to make sure im not homicidal/suicidal/etc. but the appointment they gave me is Jan. 15th. so the earliest that i can get sworn in would be Jan 16th

I heard from an inside source that there will be a class starting Jan 12th.. I'm not to sure how accurate that information is but the person who told me is already in school car..
  12. What's up guys.

Is there anyone who recently (within the past 3 weeks) went in for their drug test and received their call for medical yet?

I took the drug test Dec. 12th but haven't received a call back yet! subwaydriver said in an earlier post that it could take up to 4 weeks and this past Wednesday was the 2nd week..

I took it on the 12th as well. Haven't heard anything yet. They say we should hear within 4 weeks so there's still 2 to go. Just starting to get a little jumpy, hoping I didn't get flagged for something silly like credit history or something. When did you get your letter about confirming military credits?

I got my letter in the mail last week.. has anyone finished that 21 page booklet yet?

I heard they cant flag you for credit history, at least i hope not i got some loans out and some credit cards w some $$ on them. I checked my credit score its good im always ontime with my payments and will be paying them off once I leave my current job so I hope credit history isnt a flag. Let us know subwaydriver and GL

Here's to hoping, I went bankrupt a couple of years ago and am currently struggling to pay some bills.. but that's because of my financial situation. I currently have more bills than I can keep up with.. that's why I need this job.. gotta get back to a stable level.. financially..
  13. Anybody that took the Dec 12 drug test get a call back yet?

I took the drug test December 12th and haven't received a call yet. List # range between 325-335.. I did however, receive a notice to go to 100 centre street with my military documents to claim veterans credit.. I'm due to show up Jan 7th.. maybe that's why they haven't called me back yet? They could be pending verification of the veterans credit and once that's all verified, maybe then they'll give me a call...
  14. Hello prospective TO candidates: If at all possible, please post your list# range if you've taken...

drug test and your above list# range 510's:

medical test and your above list# range 290's:

schoolcar course and your above list # range 270's:

Much thanks in advance - Happy Holidays!

PS keep in mind that this is not OFFICIAL, but my own personal accounting from information that is freely & publicly posted on this website.

Ok, I'm in the list range of 325-330

I've taken my drug test on december 12th, 2012

haven't been to the medical yet..

The reason why I took the drug test late was because there was an issue with my mailing address, so when I went in for the test, there were probably ppl with higher list numbers than me..

  15. Like mentioned b4 be polite but get the info u want its ur right and ur career no matters how unhappy the person sounds they r getn paid and it's there job..and like metioned ask for the person that deals w the subway division gl man

I did exactly as you said and was successful in them transferring me to a "Mrs Robinson" who didn't pick up the phone the 1st time but quickly answered my voicemail. I was grateful she called me back and we were able to resolve my situation! So it looks like I didn't go through a bad case of "Moday's" as previously anticipated!

Business casual.... Whatever that means. Cackis and a polo maybe?

LoL! Thanks, I went in today in my work clothes and nobody even said anything to me. I was there only to pick up the packet that I didn't receive in the mail however, but when I read the pre-employment packet, it specifically stated that to wear "Business Casual" attire.

Did they ask you to come down for the drug test or something else? If it is for the DT, did they explain why you didn't receive a letter. GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks for the good luck wishes! I only went down there to pick up the pre-employment packet that I was supposed to receive in the mail but never did. So I didn't actually do anything today. However, I must report in this Wednesday morning at 0730 with the completed pre-employment packet (which isn't 21 pages like mostly everyone else said, unless I have it confused with another packet we might get).

Just like business casual. Button down and khakis or something like that. But when you go for orientation after you get sworn in you wear a dark blue collared shirt and black pants.

Well, lets hope that everything goes well for these next couple of meetings in which I can begin wearing those dark blue collared shirts with black pants. #herestodafuture
  16. Found my birth certificate , thanks for the heads up snow block list is moving quickly and this forum has helped me to gather all info I'm going to need ..gl to sevenz this morning!!

Thanks, I'm up nice and early, eating my wheaties, getting my voice ready to be heard.. lol.. nah j/k.. waiting till 9am to make the call, hopefully they'll pick up and hopefully nobody will have a bad case of Mondays..
  17. Listen, call this #3476438229. Don't just ask what list number they are up to, talk firmly but politely and let them know your name and your list number, then state that you have not been contacted for your drug test/initial screening and that you know people with higher list numbers than you who have. Just say "hey, I know a couple people who have been contacted but I haven't and they have higher list numbers than me, have I been passed over or something?" If you get the right person, they will check for you. They do pass over people sometimes. They make mistakes. You have to be in control and stay on top of them. If I didn't contact them myself when I did, I wouldn't be in school car now. Persistance is the key to acheiving anything in life. So what if they get annoyed by you calling, its what they get paid to do.

I plan on giving them a call early Monday morning to try and get this all figured out. It really freaks me out that the opportunity of a lifetime just passes me by like that.. it isn't fair that all these people behind me in the list is jumping for joy because they've recieved a letter or call but I'm still here wondering why I haven't gotten anything. Trust me, I can't wait for Monday morning.

Ask for the train operator liaison and tell her your list # and the situation. She is the only one that officially knows the numbers that were sent correspondence and what u need to do to straighten it all out. Contact her through human resources.

I'm gonna make sure that I ask for her if I can't get any accurate information from the desk. Hopefully I won't be dealing with people who's going to have a bad case of the Monday's!
  18. They are closed today. I was browsing back through the posts. They just may not have gottten to you exact number yet. Hell they could probably 3 list numbers away from you. When the letters go out they go out in groups. I'd say give it maybe another 2 weeks or so.

Would you happen to know anything about the medical process for new hires? Such as if they automatically disqualify one for being diabetic? I'm diabetic and I take insulin but my diabetes is under control thanks to the medication. Should I even tell them that I'm diabetic? Should I keep it hush-hush? Or should I tell them? And what is the risk I take if I tell them I'm not diabetic? Anyone else's inputs would also be helpful.

Yepp thats it happened to me. But when i was down there for the drug test and pre screening people also received phone calls. They had two lines. One for letters and one for phone calls........it was quite hilarious too. As the secretary doing the paperwork was VERY CLEAR, she said "this line is for letters, and this line for phone calls". So geniuses with letters got in the phone call line. I really hope they didnt get past that first process. I dont wanna work with idiots lol.

So, did you go through the medical process already?

  19. Well apparently them telling you number 8 isnt that uncommon. Apparently when they first started calling for the first 100, someone called the direct number you did and they told him they were up to number 7. It doesnt make sense. If your list 330, you should have definitely gotten a call or letter. Id call again Monday or go down there directly to see wtf is goin on. Cuz if you got both letters one for the list number and a qualifying letter, there shouldnt be any issue UNLESS you changed your phone number/ or address. And thats the only way they cant reach you.

I'm definetly going to look into that.. do you know if they're open today so I can call them?
  20. wondering if you got a letter after getting your score notice. Second notice would have been you had been cleared for education and experience. Those went out 2years ago maybe. look back in this topic and you will see the date. If you didn't receive 2 notices then it sounds like you might be out of luck. Not sure but check back and check all notices from DCAS.

Just like Gherigfan1 said. Did you ever recieve a second notice stating that you meet the education/experience requirments?? DCAS sent those out around November 2011. If you didn't sorry but your out of luck for this job. You had to have 5 yrs of documentable fulltime experience. You were also able to subsitute up to 4yrs of college if I remember.

Also make sure DCAS has your correct address as that will be the info the MTA will have and will send the letter out too.

I would have to agree with GehrigFan. If you didnt receieve a second letter either qualifying of disqualifying you, you may be SOL. i got a second letter late in 2010. DISQUALIFYING me. It was total BS and i appealed and appealed and they granted it very early this year. My list is right around 250 and i took the DT on 10-17. Im already in the 12-17 class but seriously I would call DCAS, 511 again and tell them you know that people in the high 300s are going for drug tests already. Try to get some info that is atleast accurate outta them.

I did. I got both notices! I got one marked 2010(the education and experience) and the other (exam results) marked 2007(I think).. However, I did get both notices. They were both sent to my mailing address and I did personally receive both notices. To be honest, I'm between list number 329-331.. I'm reading the posts on this website and reading that people behind me on the list are getting notices. Meanwhile, I haven't even received a letter or a phone call yet! I was advised by another forum member to attain the phone number to the MTA employment Desk (which I did) number is 3476438229.. When I called today, a lady picked up and I asked what list number on exam 8098 were they up to, and she replied "8" with an attitude and then I told her my list number and she said that they will get to me. After the phone call, I realized that a friend of mine who was list number 85-90 is already in the class which begun in October. So how could they possibly be up to the number 8? Things just aren't adding up properly and I'm beginning to become frustrated with this whole situation.
