5541 is at MCH

Here's my take on those 4900s from JA & ENY, ENY has been getting shoved down their throats with 4900s lately so, Check this out. I personally think they should transfer at least some of those 4900s from JA or ENY to Manhattan, to depots like MHV & or MJQ as an exchange for some OGs or NGs here's why. I've asked a lot of the drivers, & operators at Quill about this and they told me that they could use some more RTSs for the M72 & M66 since they can't use Orion VIIs on those routes anyway and also ever since they retired the 1998 RTSs and the remaining 1999 D60HFs, they've been short on some units. Even a lot of the passengers I've spoken to prefer the RTSs & complain about the Hybrids mostly the NGs. Also, even some drivers at Manhattanville prefer the RTSs for certain routes like the M96, M106 & M116.

 

"ONCE AGAIN TO MAKE IT CLEAR, I'm not saying this just because I like the RTSs & I'm an RTS fan. This is just a thought that's been crossing my mind for a while now.

You have a really good point, but I think some of the 4900s from ENY should go to MJQ while JA holds on to a few

Or maybe some from FB or WF & why would it be a big problem for MHV?

The RTSs are known for their durability, and I'm pretty sure there are a good number of drivers who like RTSs. I mean they do well in snow and other inclement weather conditions. Lastly i think if they were to retire all of them right now, there'd be quite a shortage

Why couldn't they overhaul the 97's and 98RTS like they did with the 96 RTS. The ones that Grand sent over to Flatbush I don't even see those out on the street. Those buses should of went to the chop shop from Grand Avenue.

First of all they're not 1997s, they're 98s infact 95% of the fleet was delivered in 1998, actually more arrived in 1999 and It's mainly because of "laziness" for the lack of better words to why they can't overhaul them

Yep that's the reason and there's nothing we can do about it.

They're not the same mechanically & have faulty wheelchair lifts

I honestly don't know why those 5100s were sent to LaGuardia Depot, I mean, yea their maintenance has sorta improved, but they still need to work on it. I think they should've sent those RTSs to MJQ,MV or Back to FB or wherever ECH got them from

This looks like something from last year as this bus was scrapped under Ulmer Park. The old license kind of indicates it.

RTS 9477 has returned from the dead!!!!! it was recently spotted on the M4 with FP stickers
