They go back all the way to 10 years even if it isn't on your abstract? So let's say you had 2 accident in a 7 yr span, is that a bad look in their eyes?

yes they will check if not on your abstract  they will not  hold you accountable for it HOWEVER  do not lie they will check  anytime while you are on probation and you will get FIRED !!!!! period and the union can not help  be honest on the application ...  now the medical that's another story  once you get called for medical be sure to check back here or feel free to shoot me a message and ill guide to the best of my knowledge   GOOD LUCK TO ALL 

Hi guys, I have a question. I have a accident from 3/2013 on my record. After 2017 it should gone, but do I have to let MTA know if it doesn't show up on my driving record by the time I get called?

IRRC they want you to go back 10 years  double check before you leave it out don't hide anything on the application 

I was hired march 23 2015. I had a small accident that was considered my fault by the police report and about 1500 in damage total nobody injured. This accident was February of 2014. They never even asked me about it...just dont lie. Be very explicit when asked about the details of the accident.

EXACTLY!!!!  my point  now you have 1 more month left on your probation  stay out of trouble and scan those mirrors   .......

From my experience with the hiring process for B/O exam 2613, they did not tolerate any accidents whatsoever...

again they will look  if its minor he should be good , they also will look at his Driving record completely

I got my list number last month, now last week I was involved in a fender bender accident where theirs an accident report, it will probably be on my abstract soon, will that disqualify me from being hired?

you shouldn't be disqualified  if your driving record is good other than this fender bender make sure to mark on your application  be upfront about it 

FYI   as of  MONDAY  12/7/15  candidates were still being called for final processing  from EXAM 2613   so 4600 is still on pause  also the MTA seems to be HIRING  more OA operators  there is a class training now out of several DEPOTS   i spoke to a few  some were OA  some were MTA BUS  i was told the total class # was of 80 candidates  GOOD LUCK TO ALL

if you got called for the MTA

i would disclose it to the MTA asap  but i would explain that you are just the owner of the company !  as you may know or not  the MTA  pays for all of your DRIVER'S LICENSE RENEWALS!!!!  so basically as an unwritten rule the MTA  owns YOUR license while you are EMPLOYED by them ..... Well I'm afraid to keep it to myself and not to say anything about having my own business and it comes Back in my face later they find out than I will lose the MTA transit job and also I would lose my job as a school bus driver for the last 5 years

its best to disclose to MTA  about  your limo company , however MTA frowns upon  dual employment  be careful what you sign or how you plan on explaining this to them ....

Not 100% true...once you get the medical hold taken care of, then you will be good to go. It's not like if you're placed on medical hold, you're permanently disqualified. Please be careful as far as what you post.

 

 

My best advice is shortly after your first drug test, go to your physician and get a note stating that it is under control. Providing this documentation is good for your medical examination (which I believe is 3 months prior), you should be fine.

guys if you get placed on a medical hold and cant get it taken care of  asap  your list # can and will be passed up , it does not mean you will be disqualified  but it does mean that if you do hired later you will be lower on the list and  have less seniority if you never got placed on medical hold everything on this job is about seniority  again and again stay healthy 

@illmatic96ss. Do the recheck my blood pressure after I get the letter of clearance and if so what happens if it still high,but I submit the notice of clearance?

 not too sure on this one  try to have under control and bring the letter with you MAC   if you do in fact get HIRED  they will call you down every 6 months for a re check to make sure its under control 

guys do not over think the process  get your CDL  asap  stay healthy and have all your paper work in order keep a clean license  , Don't worry about routes or about the superintendent not liking you .  when on the 7 to 10 day training  you need to Demonstrate control of the vehicle and be able to be Proactive on the road ... you need to be able to drive that Bus safely the routes you will learn them as you go along

word to the wise get a full medical check up prior to reporting for the medical  from your personal Doctor if  you have any issues get the attention you before hand so you will not be placed on medical hold .... they will pass your list # up if your placed on medical hold   STAY HEALTHY STAY HEALTHY STAY HEALTHY 

your calculations sound correct give or take, i would say go ahead and get the CDL  ASAP  you need this  you should be fine as long as all your paperwork  are in order  your health must be in order  well   if you only got 4 wrong  you be getting a call in early 2016  as i hear test 2613 is coming to a close  as far as preparations  you will need that CDL  for starters  and again STAY HEALTHY !!!!!!  everything else will fall in place .....

So guys, last few days ive been feeling VERY excited about this job. We are T-minus 4 months until we get results back and more of accurate time table when to expect to be hired..just a few questions...what will the TAKE HOME pay be like for the first year? If my calculations are correct we can expect about 620 a week take home for a 40hr work week? Just trying to crunch a budget for the first year...

 

also, I had 4 wrong on the exam and feel I did really well on the BOSS examination...do my chances look solid? Need some honest opinions...

 

Havent attempted to get my CDL yet as I am waiting for list numbers before I make any sort of moves. In the meantime what can someone do to prepare for this job? Memorize the bus lines?

Hey guys. I got side swiped by a hit and run driver over the weekend. Called the cops and they filed an accident report and complaint report. Anyone know if this will affect me negatively for MTA bus operator? Got two wrong on exam 4600 so I would imagine the accident will be on my record about time MTA calls.

you should be fine as long as you keep  your DMV  record clean try not to have anymore  and  do not get more than 4 points on your license stay positive i hear they will call from 4600 sometime in 2016   best of luck 

yes its takes some time  but word on the street is they will be calling early next year once 2613 list is closed 

was there  ever a list established for the last track worker test ? 

if this list turns out to be very long , the MTA  may extend it for longer than 4 years like they've done in the past . keep in mind alot of people don't make the TEAM  for WHATEVER  reason  drugs, alcohol , criminal history ,  driving record , training . i can go on and on  let's all stay positive and healthy  . does anyone know if there would be another  OPEN  COMPETITIVE EXAM FOR train operators ? 

Why would you fail the vision test? Is there a certain vision you need without corrective lenses? I can't see the top line of an eye chart without my corrective lenses, so I might as well not even take the test unless I get laser surgery.

they make you look in a machine with some very very small circles  you can use your eye glasses or contacts to take the test  ..  

so if you fail  the vision test  do you need to get clearance from your personal doctor or do you need to take the vision test over at 180 livingston ?

I failed this bus operator school last month. They told me that I have to wait five years. If I took this exam would the list expire before 7/2018? I think I would have to decline and reinstate myself if they reach my list number before that correct?
