  1. So I also called DCAS, and as of 2/15/15, out of 12,000 + people that are on this list...

...the list number of the last appointed is 156.

...the list number of the last certified is 756.

IMHO, the definition of "the list number of the last eligible certified" means that the HR Dept. of NYC Transit is up to this list number as far as calling in candidates for the first drug test, receiving the 21 page 'booklet' to fill out for final processing, etc. Now, I think this is good in a way because although the drug tests expire after 30 days, the HR Department can eliminate those candidates who fail the initial drug test, which means that they can move through the rest of the list quicker, depending on vacancies.

    Hope this helps.

That's the same thing a friend of mine said and he's a TO so hopefully that is the case. Thanks a lot.

  2. They have to? Then how come that was not the case with the Bus Operator 2613 list? That list was established, or made to the public on October 30th and I recall going down November 7th for the first drug test?

In addition, why did I get my "official notice of results" after getting a letter to report for the first drug test?

That's what it said on the site http://web.mta.info/nyct/hr/3600.htm so I assumed that went for all city exams.

  3. I wonder how many, especially since the list contains 12,494 names and the HR Dept. let two months pass by without calling anyone...

That have to wait the initial 60 days before they can call from any city list and being that the 60 days fell around the holidays it only makes sense to wait until after they're over. Hopefully when they do start things move along quickly.

  4. Yes you can call DCAS and find out what list number they are currently at. For example I took the conductor test and when I call to see about the status of the list the automated machine states my grade, number of people who passed the test, number of people eligible to be hired and the last number of the person hired. When you call DCAS they tell you about any CITY test you have taken. The number is (212) 669-1357 all you have to do is type in your SS# and follow the instructions.

  5. Finally figured out how to leave a comment on here, lol. Transit only do classes of about 30 people at a time once a month so it'll take some time before they get to the higher numbers 1,000+. There are some variables that can speed the list up...people declining the position, drug test failure, etc. but for the most part just assume 2yrs if you're up there in numbers. I have a friend who is currently a Train Operator and he got an email stating that people from off of list 3600 MAY be contacted and offered a cleaning position for both subways and buses which puts another option out there for people with higher list numbers. By the by I scored a 97.5 list number 1,241.
