  1. I heard from someone who heard from someone else that there's a lot of track workers set to retire soon. How true this is, I don't know. Second hand information is never really reliable. Let's just keep out fingers crossed that it is.
  2. That's the same thing a friend of mine said and he's a TO so hopefully that is the case. Thanks a lot.
  3. When you call the DCAS automated line to find out the progress of the list numbers and it says "the list number of the last eligible certified" what does that mean? Because for this exam it says that, that list number is 756.
  4. Dang didn't even realize it was 2yrs already. Hopefully the continue to move quickly with the hiring process and it doesn't freeze up like it did with the Conductor exam.
  5. I hope they hit that 1,500 mark quickly.
  6. That's what it said on the site http://web.mta.info/nyct/hr/3600.htm so I assumed that went for all city exams.
  7. That have to wait the initial 60 days before they can call from any city list and being that the 60 days fell around the holidays it only makes sense to wait until after they're over. Hopefully when they do start things move along quickly.
  8. Super excited as well...hopefully things go quick and there isn't a freeze like there was with the conductor list.
  9. Yes you can call DCAS and find out what list number they are currently at. For example I took the conductor test and when I call to see about the status of the list the automated machine states my grade, number of people who passed the test, number of people eligible to be hired and the last number of the person hired. When you call DCAS they tell you about any CITY test you have taken. The number is (212) 669-1357 all you have to do is type in your SS# and follow the instructions.
  10. Finally figured out how to leave a comment on here, lol. Transit only do classes of about 30 people at a time once a month so it'll take some time before they get to the higher numbers 1,000+. There are some variables that can speed the list up...people declining the position, drug test failure, etc. but for the most part just assume 2yrs if you're up there in numbers. I have a friend who is currently a Train Operator and he got an email stating that people from off of list 3600 MAY be contacted and offered a cleaning position for both subways and buses which puts another option out there for people with higher list numbers. By the by I scored a 97.5 list number 1,241.
