Dude, you have the airtrain as your AVATAR!
If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then you're probably talking about the
foamercriminal trespasser (and yeah, I know you're on this forum and we all know who you are!) who recently caused a train to BIE in the Cranberry Tube when he was "playing around" with the circuit breakers in an empty cab. Well guess what, now your career as an actual motorman has come to a screeching halt.Say it again brother!

Watch it, somebody might take that as encouragement to break into the cab and change the signs!
LOL!

Random... The suspension in the r142as are incredible compared to the 62/s but the trains buck hard whenever you come to a break

Well the R32s can't get retired yet they may have served their purpose but you must wait until the R179s are built, tested and accepted for revenue service and knowing the when it comes to retiring cars they are late by at least 2yrs. The R179 order is late as is they may have awarded the contract but there is no design yet for it so you can add another year or 2 to the retirement so i wouldnt expect the R32s to be gone by 2017 but at least year later than that. For some reason the and get the hand me down i assume is cause the cars when retiring get sent to the to get beaten down then they are sent to the and the will finish the job since its the longest line the B division.
I know we have to wait until the r179's come in i'm just saying these trains need to go asap @ Dan05979 I did state a reason why these swaps happen it's not all "Bullshit" the a/cs don't work that great on a fully underground route so you put them on a route that's not fully underground, the same reason why (a fully under ground route) riders were complaining about the r32's and the 42s in the summer it's not hard to comprehend...

"Lemon" hand me downs? Tell that to the 38/40/42/44 which were retired before the 32s.
They all had their problems & they were lemons 2

What is the main reason for A/C swap equipment every year, and how long have they been doing this?
The is a fully underground route so the A/c's have to work hard to push out air while dealing with the heat from the tunnels and the stations. The isn't fully underground so the natural breeze from the outside helps to maintain a stable climate and it's express so you won't lose air from constantly opening the doors. Its a dumb idea to me because the is much longer than the which means the trains get beat to death more and since it's a full time line there's less time for the trains to be maintained by their respective barns which leads to more problems...

& i'm not to sure how long the T/A has been doing this but it's about time the 32's get retired they served their purpose and it's about time Fulton/ Nostrand gets some new trains instead of these lemon hand me downs...

Whenever I get to pick, I'll try to get something at Corona or Livonia. Otherwise it's an A to B transfer for me. Only because I want the experience.
If coronas more convenient for you i suggest you take that instead of livonia it's a lot safer and the guys over there take care of their trains i only chose livonia because of location

Took a 62A from VC to Utica and back. I did better with the SMEE than the NTT. It feels like an extension of the hands. No dumps from anyone in class today. Overran a station by a door panel on my second stop. After that, everything was gravy. But, like you guys said, each of the operating ends react differently. Looking forward to more practice.
Any idea of what line you want after school car? i suggest you pick the or the or they're decent, & i'm glad that every thing went smooth after you overran you'll get better with practice it's all about your timing just trust yourself and you'' be fine!

You still have 4 yrs before to enjoy the R32s and R42s no need to rush.
Yea lol i'm not foaming over them i actually used to hate working the 42's their cabs were uncomfortable (i'm a big guy) and they buck like a mule & the brakes were horrible but i'll definitely miss them & the memories they brought me & the 32's are pretty much self explanatory why i'll miss them

I hope the TA hurries up, and swap the R32 and R42 with the Atlantic Ocean, and get their R179's in, as they suppose to be doing soon. I hate seeing the rust lines and spots around the top of the R42's. I do love the R46s on the A line though. For something from the mid 70's, it is wayyyy better, and the heating is wayyyy better, still yet, than something from the mid 80's (R68,R68A)............
I'm gonna miss the 32's had some good memories with them on the charlie & i'll miss thos rustbucket 42's with their horrible brakes and bucking

I'm pretty sure the R generally gets one or two 160 sets. I've been on one at least 3 times.
The F normally has some 46 sets assigned to it - these aren't per se gap trains....
The F's 46's are probably just spares
