I just got another pre employment in the mail for Monday the 10th. But I’m going for final processing on the 11th? Doesn’t make any sense? Anyone else experience this?

That would tuesday the 10th.  I don’t think I can edit my own posts.

When did you take your 1st drug test

not sure if they are done with the list as of yet ,but what im assuming i know the 8600 exam  is coming out sometime this month. so they probably just going to finish up with 95 scores on the 3600 exam. he also stated its going to be a hiring freeze in all departments in the mta soon.

Thats the second time someone has mentioned a hiring freeze within transit. I was down at Livingston on 3/10/18 and one of the HR hiring managers said that there was a hiring freeze going on, but when you walk outside to the waiting area it was packed with people filling out pre-employment paperwork and taking pics for there ID cards. My list # is in the 2300's and Im still waiting to hear something.

no what i meant is they called me saying they are doing medical exams/final processing to fill up the April 23rd class now.  So I'm assuming after I'm sworn in that day I will find out where I have to go for day 1.  The timing is excellent because it gives me pretty much a month to sever ties at my current employer, and move all my stuff from Orlando to New York.

Cool, at least its a step in the right direction

Maybe this was mentioned before so I apologize in advance. Looks as if there is 2 classes a month? I wonder if it’s confirmed how many more classes they will have for this year.

Worried that after the 3-90 day wait period when you take the drug test, if I lose my chance ?

    Wondering the same thing.

my advice is to just reinstate yourself back on the list if you really want the job by writing the letter and faxing it to dcas this happen to me about 2-3years ago i was in the 1-50 range over legacy credits it took about 2 weeks tops for them to find me a place back on the list depending on my score

Yeah, I already mailed the letter. It should hopefully get there by tomorrow. I was just blindsided by this. Cant figure out how I got processed and bounced off this list at the same time.  They already have my info.

  6. I don't know if anybody has ever had this happen to them. On January 29th I was supposed to report to 180 Livingston St. For pre employment processing. I ended up losing the letter. So I waited to see if another one would come in the mail.  I then decided to call HR and tell them what happened. The young lady on the phone told me to come to Livingston on February 27th. I went down to Livingston filled out the pre employment packet and did the drug test. After all that, they said wait for response within 3 to 90 days. I just happen to call DCAS hotline this morning. When I entered my information, the recording told me I'm no longer on the list and that I am eligible to put myself back on the list by writing a letter stating to them what happened. I'm trying to figure out how could this happen when I went down to Livingston filled out all the paperwork and did the drug test. Does anybody know how long it takes for them to put you back on the list.

  7. Congrats on making some headway. Im just confused about the provisional part. I guess you will find out more when you get down there. I think they will offer you a permanent spot down the line, don't know when. I also applied back in NOV 2017, haven't heard anything yet.  Im just taking a guess, would a provisional spot even give you a list number, I don't even know.  Keep me posted on whats happening. Im waiting myself.

hey guys, I applied for exam 8606 transit electrical helper in OCT 2017 and received a letter today for the same thing, the application was based on experience and education where there was no exam giving, is this job safe to proceed ? its for a "provisional" position and I am currently working at in my job for over 10 years now so its hard to make the move for a "provisional"

Moussaberte, why take the exam again if your already in?

What did you receive a letter for? Im reading the Notice of Examination for 8606, but I dont see anything saying it was provisional.

Hey guys help needed!!!  My list number is 272* I was asked to report the employment center on 9/13 but never updated my mailing address (I moved to Florida)....I sent my reinstatement letter to DCAS as instructed on Thursday.  Did i lose this opportunity or will I be invited to pre-employment soon?  Any help would be appreciated as if I get a pre employment letter ill be on that first flight up to NY!!

I would call them (347-643-8229/30/31/32). I got my letter in the mail, missed the date. So i called and spoke to some directly in HR who told me to come in on the 27th of Feb. I got down there at 7am sharp and was done with the paperwork, walking out the door by 1:15pm. So now Im here just waiting.

  10. Lol no. But no joke there's a question that's like "what do you do when your mad?". Do you talk a walk to blow off steam. Do you let it not bother you. Or do you punch a wall ...

That's really how stupid it is

The funny part about that is people really do Check the box that says Punch the Wall.
