  1. Exactly, some of the questions and complaints were out of control. People complaining about walking on the elevated structure, complaining about the size of the ballast rocks in the yard, complaining about the time off between tours or even complaining about uniform issues. This was a meeting brought together because of a yard incident and it was to stress the subject of safety and doing your job right. Alot of people  just dont have common sense and really dont belong there. I can see atleast 1/4 of the people not being able to cut it out there.

Did they think it would be an easy cushy job when they applied for this? One guy basically threw his instructor under the bus when someone asked him about what they were teaching him.

Alot of people are lacking common sense.

HA ! This is so true. I was sitting there cringing...those questions should've been pre-screened before presenting them to MTA brass.

  2. I was told when I took the DT it could be anywhere from 1 to 90 days. Someone who took the test the same day as me (1/31) was called immediately ( I think the very next day). I finally got called mid-March and was sworn in for the 3/25 class. Longest month and a half in my life!! The fingerprint fee is $91.50 - should be on your 1st check. GL all!!

Cool. Thanks for the info BXGirl.

Have you started school-car yet ?

  3. I took the drug test on Thursday April 11th....I am still waiting to hear back from them.....

    Anyone experience a long wait ?  :(

(I noticed some here took the drug test and were called in for the medical/interview and sworn in - all within the same week)

  4.

Of course... The letter is for the initial step of the process which is a drug test so that makes perfect sense.

I think my obsession with receiving this letter is affecting my ability to reason... Nah... It's definately my extreme dislike for my current dead end crappy job that is affecting my ability to reason...lol

    LOL. Smooth,

I went through the EXACT same thing: I was working in a law firm (support-staff position) and hated the office politics  (not to mention the salary was far from great). Last year - I got called for the  (MTA)  Conductor's Position - I ran away and never looked back.

Now, I'm pretty happy    but will be happier when I get called for Train Operator  :D      (List#760's)
