  1. Hi all. So I know that I received a letter to come in to Livingston tomorrow at 7:30, but the problem is I don’t live at the place they sent the letter. Do I have to bring the letter with me? Or what number can I call to reschedule or try to get a letter sent to the correct address

  2. Glad I was able to help.

(This information is from reading the B/O 2613 thread so many times, don't know who exactly said this information and when it was posted)

You will be placed on medical hold in which you will be required to bring a note in from a physician stating that it's okay to drive a bus. The second time you come in they will put you through the same ishiara color plates. If you still fail, and you have the note from the physician, they will bring you into another room with a physical traffic light. As long as you can easily identify the red, green and orange lights, you're good to go.

Thanks for the info, I've been searching for an answer for a while.

  3. Realllllly important question can you guys please answer quick , okay so I can clearly see colors (traffic lights , signs ect) but when I take an online eye test and there are multiple shades of the same color I often struggle to see the image portrayed , will this hurt my chances of becoming a bus operator , I'm sure I can clearly see road signs and traffic lights pleaseeee help

  6. @ Tyheem how old are you now? Also there is no guarantee that it will take 3 yrs for them to call or that they will be hiring when you turn 21 and if you live in New York state before you get a cdl you must of had your regular license for 3yrs

Right now I am 16 & I am aware of the 3 year rule as far as your license goes & also I know it isn't a definite but most people in my family who are operators said it took around 3 years to get a call back and I really wanna get in as soon as possible

  7. How hard is it to become a bus operator? I heard the training is extremely thought especially else pillars in the Bronx. I wanna join the mta when I'm 21 so I'm planning to apply when I turn 18 because they usually take 3 years to call

  8. I'm not sure if this is the correct thread but can someone answer my question? After you compete training and qualify for the job, will you be able to choose ANY depot you want to work out of ? Or is there a certain few available at a certain time because I would really like to go to college depot once I join the MTA

    College Point Depot*
