  1. Currently sitting on the (N) at 57th going to Queens. They're stopping (Q)s at 42nd and 57th and sending them back to Brooklyn. They are wrong-railing some Queens-bound (R) trains at 57th on Brooklyn-bound express track, switching to Queens-bound express after the station and running them via the (F). Huge mess.

Are you going to get off?

  2.

    Fixed that.

    So, which one is it...

Which side do you want me to believe?

I have to say, funny shit goes down in this section sometimes.

Believe what? I have nothing to prove.

  3. Apples and oranges. The buses they have don't have the carbody issues the R44s have. They can't run the R44s and had to pull all of them from service.

Yes, I under stand that, but they could of kept some GE rebuilt R32s like somebody else had said on here.

  4. And people are bitching as usual.

NJ commuters don't care at all. A woman can give birth on a train and instead of congratulating her, they'll complain about how their late.. <_<. It's like being considerate is something that's dying... smh

Well, in their defense, if you're more than 8 months pregnant, then you have no business riding mass transit. Same thing if you are sick with EBOLA.

Yeah you know its messed up when there are 4 160s back to back heading to Garfield/Elmwood Park.

So there is a Ferguson protest that is blocking the entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, buses affected

These  protests are dumb and uncalled for. Protest over something more important, not during a major holiday travel period.

  5. Oh, was the (8)(10)(11)(12)(13) ever used in service or were they part of routes that the (MTA) were planning to build but were never built or were they just renames?

There used to be a #8 train that ran in the Bronx, but it was discontinued in the early 1970s and replaced by the BX55 bus (which of course is also now discontinued).

  6. The 188 order is coming before the 179 is because it's a simpler order. Most of the order calls for converting older cars already built. The numerous delays in the 179 car order stemmed from lack of funds. That's why the order switched from 290 cars (250 five-car sets, 40 four-car sets) with options for 50 and 80 cars each to what it is now, 300 cars (260 four-car sets, 40 five-car sets).

The test train should be on site sometime next year.

Like I said before, consider the 179s the third option order for the 160s, just under a different R number. It really makes no difference as they will be similar cars to the 160s.

If they were similar, the MTA should of just excised the option back in 2010-2011 as R160Cs or something. What, they ran out of funds or something?
