Hello y'all. Hope your doing well this fine morning :)
I came here because 511 was of no use. I purchased a Weekly LIRR UniTicket yesterday from Little Neck to Flushing then onwards on the "MTA BUS" (see Port Washington LIRR Schedule Brochure Section titled "UniTicket" for more info)
I recieved the ticket at the machine, and it just looks like a normal LIRR ticket, but it has the words "MTA Bus" on it. My question is how do I use it, do I have to use it on the bus lines mentioned, or will the drives not care if I use it on any bus departing from Flushing (Q48 or Q27)?
Please advise. I hope you all have some clue. Thanks!

FLUSHING, Queens — One person is dead and at least 16 people injured, including seven in critical condition, after a "very serious" collision involving two buses, which sent one into a building that later caught fire in Flushing Monday morning. A city bus and coach bus collided at Main Street and Northern Boulevard, causing one of the buses to crash into a building, according to police. The crash occurred around 6:18 a.m., FDNY said. One person was found dead at the scene, fire officials said at a morning news conference. There are at least "16 reported injuries at this time," FDNY tweeted around 7:15 a.m. At least seven people are in critical condition, FDNY later said. The crash is considered "very serious," and is causing "heavy traffic delays," police tweeted. There is a "heavy presence of emergency personnel" in the area, NYC's Office of Emergency Management tweeted. The following buses are facing delays because of the incident, according to the MTA: Q13, Q16, Q19, Q20A, Q20B, Q25, Q25Ltd, Q28, Q34, Q44-SBS, Q65, Q65Ltd, Q66 and QM3. It was not immediately known which MTA bus was involved. The coach bus was operated by Dahlia. PIX11 has reached out for comment from both.

True...but if it says Q37 South Ozone Park 150 St via 111 St it doesn't go to the casino. Same story with the other direction. This "Q37B" doesn't even show up on bus time...

In terms of the mta bus 26 XD40 order, JFK would get em, it would make sense mileage wise since their newest 40 foot bus is almost 7 years old and has racked up on miles. It would make sense to give JFK the next batch of XD40's to balance out the fleet.
LGA already has XD40's
BP has artics on 2 out 3 of their 24/7 routes and doesn't need any new 40 footers and does fine with the old gens, but i would expect them to get more XD60's for the Q110 if they get more new buses.
ECH is a different story all together.
Let's close our eyes and imagine a Q60 xd40 [emoji18][emoji18][emoji18]

Agree! Me being a regular commuter on that route, the buses are always completely PACKED. Lots of bunching during the peak hours. Especially at around 3:30, the previous bus would leave Kew Gardens at 3:15 or so and then 4-5 buses would all come bunched together at around 3:35. I don't think more buses need to be added or the frequency changed, it just needs some "bus-management" and more short trippers to Rockaway Blvd. The q10 bus is so busy because a lot of people comes from/to the airport and it's like a connection to manhattan where you can take the bus all the way to the last stop kew gardens union typke and transfer to the subway E/F train.

You need to see the q46 bus my friendThe MTA really needs to make schedule adjustments to the Q38 schedule. The amount of bunching and delays after rerouting buses off Fresh Pond Road has spiked, to the point where there's bunching at any time of day. The delays during middays has increased, and buses bunch more during midday hours. It takes 15 minutes to go from 69 Street to Fresh Pond Road on Metropolitan Avenue alone (runtime is no more than half of that). That causes buses to start bunching.
Yesterday, I was waiting for the bus at 108 Street in the PM rush towards Middle Village, and there was bunching, as I waited for a long time for a bus (I walked from Queens Boulevard to 108 Street as well, and not a single bus passed by). Two buses passed, and then I didn't see any bus going towards Rego Park, so that was it. I don't see a single bus until the Penelope Avenue (there were two buses at 84 Street and Dry Harbor Road towards Rego Park). I don't see another bus until Eliot Avenue & 69 Street, and another around 74 Street. By the time I got off to get Chinese food, a third bus was close to the other two (but not exactly bunching). During this time, buses run every 12 minutes.
In the morning, the buses are so full that buses are constantly flagging people from the early morning, and well into the late AM rush and early midday times (on occasion). I often walk to 80 Street (a few stops down from mine) because I know that a few people get off there in the AM, and the BO lets everyone in (some have to go through the back door, if they can). Buses regularly bypass stops in the morning when they are on time.
I look to see bustime to see if there's any difference, and well:
Q38 Bullshit March 4, 2017 by BM5 via Woodhaven, on Flickr
At this time, buses run every 20 minutes, and buses leave Corona at :00, :20, and :40. It takes 12 minutes to go from Woodhaven Boulevard to the Corona Terminal. The bus that recently left the Corona Terminal is the 1:40 bus.
Buses leave Rego Park at :00, :20, and :40, and it takes 5-8 minutes to go from Queens Boulevard to 108 Street & 62 Drive. The bus that is approaching Queens Boulevard is the 12:40 PM bus, which was suppose to leave Rego Park at 1:40 PM.

On the MTA website, theres a typo saying that:
"Q55 and Q88 buses are running with delays westbound, due to traffic condition on the LIE Service Rd from 108 St to College Point Blvd and Grand Central Pkwy interchange.
Allow additional travel time."
It should say Q58. Kind of wierd...

Just out of curiosity, how is the n33 ridership? It seems like a very short route and looking at the time it takes from Point A -> Point B, it looks like ridership is low (unless i'm mistaken)

For those people that were asking, the winter picks start on Jan 8. That's also when the M5 will be split into the M5 and M55 and CP will loose the Q53 bus route in exchange for the Q23 and Q19 routes.

On BusTime, quite interesting that it shows the M5's southern destination as 31 St 6 Av

Karma- what comes around goes aroundHad a funny encounter tonight. Some annoying kid was playing with the stop request button before his stop (woke me up b/c the bus driver had to tell him to stop) and the guy blew fast his stop as fast as he could. The kid got mad at him, but in my opinion, he deserved it.

Uni-Ticket LIRR + MTA

I went to Jamaica station yesterday to trade my Weekly for a Monthly, and none of the personnel at Jamaica knew about the Uni Ticket (not even the manager!)
They had to call corporate to find out how to use it, and they said to just show the ticket to the bus driver. However, the monthly is on a metro card with a swipe bar. So now I'm skeptical if what they said is true. Oh well!
