as long as they are pulling names it's not too late but how often idk , I got my name put back on as well

has anyone received a "considered but not appointed letter?" Or know anyone who has? I received the letter and I don't know WHATS going on. I have not been able to get in touch with anyone at certificate.
  2. Damn, that sucks! I thought you were straight...but everything for a reason. You were just seeking time to clear up loose ends. Just use the time wisely. You are still in the race. I am 7 list numbers away according to my homegirl that just got called for the December 26th class. However, I spoke with Mrs. Vargas today and she stated that they are on hold with the calling because they are waiting for people to come off of medical hold. This is insane. I's so close....smh

  3. That's awesome news Ayeo! My home girl received her email today too! I'm only 8 list numbers away from her so hopefully I'm next! Keep that focus. Remember, you only get this shot once unless you take the test again and want to patiently impatiently wait. Start the new year off right all of my fellow appointees and let's get this money! Congratulations everybody!

  4. Is the ss print out mandatory ? Or is that for people that don't have all their w2's

the printout is not a requirement. Neither are the W2's. The printout was a suggestion for someone who doesn't remember their work history from the time they are requestion. When I was going through the paperwork for sanitation, it was a requirement so I already had a copy. My suggestion, buy it once and keep it close.

so strange, went to ss office and was given a form to get this info and was told we could get it right away by coming back to the ss office, the form was dated from 2014 and had the $136 charge. When I called ss though they said it takes 4 months to get the earnings info and the form from the ss website is dated 2016 and charges $115. Not sure what is the right info, anyone do this recently at a ss office?

I can't answer that one. I went to the ss office and paid the $135 because I needed it right away. I was told later that it could be ordered online but it takes some time in which I did not have. The extra $20 may be because of the rush, who knows. If you can wait order it online , pay the $115. If not the $135. Either way, keep it close!
  5. They made a copy of the first few pages and the last ones that needed the new date, I filled those out again. If you ask if that can be done depending on who you're working with, they may let you do that.

It was hearing, vision, color distinguishing and urine. Unless they found something specific to your test before, that's new to me.

Also, it's VERY important that you follow their instructions CLEARLY!! They don't like you trying to change transit ways to your way. Think of the MTA HR department the cousins of those at the DMV. LOL!

Also, once hired, DO NOT BE LATE!!! Lawd, Hey-sus, please don't do that!! People have been made example of in quite a few instances!!!! If you have a lateness problem, fix that ASAP or it will be fixed for you. And that goes for everyone coming in. My class started with 10. We went down to 7 for various reasons. Another class started with 10, they're down to 5. A few of them dropped out when they saw what the job really entails. It's REAL down here.

Also, be prepared to do A TON OF STUDYING!!! The books and tools are heavy, and depending on who your TSS is, may make you bring everything everyday!!

Good luck & knowledge to all of you!

    Thank you!
  6. After 4 months of waiting since my first visit (I did another drug test and more paperwork 2 weeks ago since they told me the drug test is no good after 3 months) I am officially in and starting Monday. My friend who took the test with me got his first letter to go in next week and his number is 83**. My number is 69**.

This is the most surreal feeling I've had in a minute. Hoping for A division!! LOL!

hello, I have a question. Did you have to go and have a test done for your sugar and/ or protiens or any type of blood work during your physical?
  7. What are the factors that determine list number besides exam grade? Does timing of application matter? Anything else?

i don't think so...scoring high is the key and being readily available when they call you with all of your paperwork. But even after the test, you still have to wait until the list is generated and then wait until you are called. I think we took exam #8098 back in 2011, I think. Sometimes it takes a while. It depends on transits needs amd their budget.
  8. Did you fill out the paperwork again?  When you went the second time?

They sent the same paperwork in the mail that the send prior to my first visit..

Either way seems like a very short matter of time.  I'll see you winners in a few weeks to a month !!!!

I filled mines out again. I went down there with a copy and they were like, hold up Missy....u need to fill this out again..lol. Its just the application. The 21 page packet you take with you when you get called for final processing I believe.
  9. I'm a new member, been reading for a while. Would like to apply for the next T/O exam. I've been working many years, full time and part time. I want to make sure my employment record is correct. How do they check your employment? Is it all via the IRS and your tax returns? Because I haven't filed yet for the past 2 years, will that matter? And when i've worked part time, i haven't always needed to file. Also do they require exact months or is a year enough? I'm having trouble gathering this information because it's over a span of many years. Any information you have would be helpful.

go to the social security department and request a history of employment from high school to current.

    Correct..

This information is coming from a highly trusted souse in which we will be meeting sooner or later...  (Can't blow my lead) But, sharing info..

    I appreciate the heads up.
  10. They don't call it that specifically:  Ebonics for blood pressure to diabetes,

This is what I was told to expect on my second visit.  In terms of filling out the paperwork from the first visit again.

When you go there, they'll know that you're there for the 2nd round, but let them know that you already did the first part. Smh. You see what I mean? I told you, one hand doesn't know what the other is doing with them at HR.

Don't fill it out again. You'll probably be in a class by January. Unfortunately, you have no better choice but to be there all day because they're checking you medically for sugar and protiens, from stem to stern, and you'll be fingerprinted, have you picture taken for your ID, and you'll be sworn in and given your Rule Book and your Induction Book. You'll also be told where and when to report for Orientation which will be at 130 Livingston Street which is near Schermerhorn. Sorry. The only thing that I can guarantee is that if you received the same form again but with the date this week, then don't fill it out again. Let them know that you filled it out the last time you were there. Then they'll take it from there. They'll find out from your last visit and move you along.

What I would do is contact HR again and ask them about filling it out a second time and see what they say. It's better to be safe than sorry because it's possible that for some other reason, you have to fill it out again. How long is the form?

Just fill it out they might have another oversight..

So just bring that with you and let them know that you filled it out already. However, call them and ask them why you're being told to fill it out again. I'm sure it was sent to you as an oversight. The urine test you did the first time was for drugs and alcohol. This time, you'll be tested for everything, from blood pressure to diabetes, to protein, to vision and hearing, to an EKG, your weight, height, I mean everything. Lol!!

It's like being examined for the Armed Forces, that's part of the reason why they call it paramilitary.

omg, this is new news to me. I haven't been called for a physical to date. So what your saying is the "second round" consists of diabetes, proteins etc..testing? I hate this, I'm so confused. The nerve if them to give us list numbers for order but there is no order with processing. Its crazy....I'll keep you guys posted with whatever I know but I'm so over it.
  11. I took my first visit on 9/7 in which I did urine..  I'm scheduled to be there tomorrow on 12/8.

-I have the HUGE 10 year stack of paperwork.

Then I get sent the paperwork I filled out on on 9/7 to bring with me on 12/8

your visit seems to be to re-take the drug test. Results expire every 90 days. So if you went on 9/7 your results are to expire 12/7. So essentially they are making you come back to take it again. I had to do the same thing.

  13. Upon second visit..

I was told that this is for sugar & protein.

as well as they will know you filled out the paperwork as well as this is your second visit..

    Can any 2nd visitors confirm?

Can you please clarify what you mean by second visit? I went down for a "second visit" but it was to re-take my drug test because my results were to expire that next week. The physical that you have to take is subjected to a vision and hearing test followed by an EKG.
