I got 2 questions The pay is it weekly or bi-weekly? I been hearing that you can bring a backpack but it can't have straps where can I get those?

Now I got a question the NYCT approved footwear do we pay out of pocket for that or does that come out of our paycheck?

Are they paying for those 8 hours of orientation I forgot to ask them back at 180?

PM’s and Midnights are usually what they give newbies.
But you will fill out a “wish list” asking for certain tours & days off.
You will most likely not get everything you ask for, but sometimes people get lucky.
Now how do they start off with newbies do the start in the yard and the move up to work service and then revenue service?

So I got a call back from the mta I was supposed to come in for the drug test today at 10 but last Friday I called a lady from there when I was already told to come in on the 2nd for final processing but I told them that I was already drug tested on sept 27th so now I don't know what to expect tomorrow.

I believe if it has been over 30 days since you last did the drug test you have to get tested again.
I called someone at the MTA they told me to disregard it and to come in on the 2nd for final processing.

So I was told yesterday to come in on the 2nd for final processing and just 30 minutes ago I got an automated call from NYCT to come in on the 1st for pre employment has this happened to anyone because I'm not sure how to go about it if I already did my pre employment/drug test and medical exam?

Technically your not because your first day would B Nov. 15th and they ask for 2 weeks grace period after 2nd dose. They really stressed that fact. But hopefully in your case they would look passed it being that it’s only 2 days short of grace period.
hopefully they look past it lol i might just say on the night of the 2nd im getting my second dose

Yes they do and any new employee after Nov. 14th has to be fully vaccinated. They also informed that I need 2 weeks clearance after my 2nd dose before Nov. 15. So all of you who are not fully vaccinated and want the job I suggest you jump on getting vaccinated.
Im scheduled to get my 2nd dose on the 4th so I'm still good?

Yeah you'll get a paper where to report and the clothes you need to wear until your uniform comes. You'll get a report time and an address and make sure you get a bag without straps in order to prevent drags on the road bed when walking the tracks in yards.
Thanks also do they ask if you are fully vaccinated when going for final processing?

Take it easy, the TA is not known for efficiency lol.
Like RTOman said, try to practice patience, because if this is getting on your nerves so much, I can’t imagine what being on the road and XX will be like for you.
Lol I'm trying man to be honest this is something I been waiting for since I was a kid

I was suppose to be in October 4th class was put on medical hold. Went the following week was cleared and was sworn in and put in to the November 15th class. So there is a class in November they are probably waiting for last week to call you guys in. That’s exactly what happened with me for Oct. 4th they called me in the week before. Just be patient and on top of them at the same time. Good luck.
I hope next week I hear something good

I got en email for pre employment on the sep 28th, got an email a week later to come in on oct13 for the pre employment/drug test, haven’t heard anything for medical. I know it’s been a little over a week but when I was down there a lot of people were saying they got a email for medical not even a week later after drug test .. trying to to be impatient lol did you receive and email or phone call for medical ?
I went again on the 7th and got it cleared/passed then when they sent me to go do my fingerprints thats when I was told that there's no vacancy at the moment

You haven't seen anything yet welcome to one hand don't wash the other agency..
This is just how they are I went through the same stuff back in 2001..
They drag those feet but when they move they move, and they expect you to be ready..
Bit of advice, Learn Patience now before you get on the payroll it helps..
So you had the same issue too? I guess im just anxious to get start im pretty sure some us have been wanting this job since we were kids

When did they call you in for pre employment ?
September 23rd I got the email for pre employment then the 28th I got the conditional job offer when I went for the medical exam/ fingerprint I got put on medical hold then oct 7th I went back and got it cleared but when I moved on to do my fingerprints I was told that at the moment there's no vacancy at the moment but that there's a class on Nov 15th and to send out 2 emails to DCAS and then the tuesday after that email ms vargas which I did all that but tuesday she told me they don't have the list in house yet and to check back this friday I checked back today and emailed her and got an automated email saying shes not in today so I called the other lady that told me there wasn't a vacancy and told me that they don't got the list yet either and to check back on tuesday. I mean at this point they're playing too many waiting games it's really starting to piss me off to say the least

If they passed you for medical then you’ll be in the next class. Just depends when they confirm it.
One of the biggest issues right now is the lack of TSS’s for school car. They’ve had to call back retired TSS’s to try to get classes even started. This might be one of the biggest MTA hirings ever. No one was prepared for the pandemic/ all the staffing losses in the system and they clearly had no plan for coming out of the pandemic and the city going back to work and tourism.
I’d say we could be back to pre-pandemic ridership by mid next year. And I doubt they will have the proper staffing by then. Hence why they are rushing things so much right now.I contacted michelle vargas on tuesday but she told me to email her tomorrow to see if I'm on the list because at the time they didn't have the list "in house" but I'm really hoping I get in on the november class the sooner the better I wonder where they do training at though
