  1. I was also looking to see if any one from 6/3 open house was contacted. Do you know if everyone who passed the open house test and was interviewed will be invited to the S&D overview or do they use a selection process from that pool of candidates. Also, I was curious , did you or anyone you know write a thank you or follow up email to the person you interviewed with? I am just trying to figure out how to be successful and make it through the process

  2. I was just invited to the June Open House. Is the exam a written/oral/ computer exam? if you pass the cognitive and vocabulary exam does anyone know what type of interview it is? do you need to be prepared to answer any mechanical questions in regard to operation and movement of train?  Any insight as to what the interview is like? (1 on 1 or panel?).

    Thanks

  3. Can anyone offer some advice on applying for the position being that most of you on this forum have had success. I see they just posted a new opening LIRR Assistant Cond. on the MTA career website. I have applied for this position before but have not had success. Did you include an cover letter with your resume or just the resume.  Does it help at all if you are a current MTA employee (currently I am with MTA NYCT and looking to get into the LIRR). I am trying to see if there is anything I can do to increase the chance of getting a call. Thanks any advice or help is appreciated. !

  4. Can someone please explain " late clear " how much additional money this actually is. Also, anyone recently on the job give me an idea on how much OT is available during your first and/or second year. I am trying to determine with OT, late clear, night or weekend diff, how much you can reasonably expect to make in the first few years on an annual basis. Obviously the pay rate increased in steps but I am  really concerned with what you can expect in year 1 or 2?,,, Thanks!

  5. Far Rock Depot, Thanks for the insight you provided, I am still waiting and for my results but took the OPA in April. I am list 35XX so I prob have some time to go. With all that great info you provided can you give me an idea on how much OT you are actually getting, or what is usually available for newcomers. If they add an unexpected shift for you are they taking another one away?  I am trying to determine what the average 1st or 2nd year Conductor can actually earn per year when you start out with night diff and OT. I want to be able to weigh that when I get called to decide if it will work for me . I have heard a lot of confusing info, (no OT for new hires,... a lot of OT...etc etc..) . I know the hourly rate but what can you really expect to earn when you start?

    Thanks!!

  6. Can anyone provide me with some info. I am lost number 32XX. I took the OPA in April on 2018 and I have not heard anything back. Is the OPA  pass/fail exam? How long can I expect to wait after the OPA to hear anything. Also, will I be notified by mail or will I just get a preemployent letter next if I passed/

Any info anyone has will be appreciated.

    Thanks !!!

  7. Does anyone have the correct salary steps for reach the top pay rate. Also, What how much PAId OT is available during your first or second year of service. I am trying to determine what the average 1st or 2nd year conductor grosses per year with OT. Anyone who is a conductor now or know anyone who is that can answer this?

  8. I’m taking the Opa in 2 weeks and the letter states you can not bring a mobile phone to the test site. Can I bring a knapsack or put my phone in a bag while taking the exam ?do they search bags, or let you have a device with you as long as it’s off? How is this enforced?
