  1. I wouldn’t worry about RDO’s as far as something happening. If you’re confident about what you’re doing, you won’t have no worries. Especially if you can pick up a platform job for a RDO. Tomorrow I got a burn test (test train) out of Pitkin yard. Automatic no lunch with a 8+4 day. Be positive!

  2. Absolutely. You’ll be a liability. A friend of mine who switched from conductor to T/O said 16 hr days a rare and OT can be on the platform or doing other things. He mentioned that there are many paths for conductors. I’m on the fence jumping over because of pay but quality of life and a peace of mind sounds more appealing.

Sleep and health are really important, imagine being a conductor with barely any sleep, many mistakes can happen. And plus imagine doint a 16 hour shift like let's say 4pm till 12 midnight and then midnight till 8am, and then have to be back at 4pm the next day. By the time you get hope it'll probably be like 9 or 10 the time you actually fall asleep it'll be time to wake up again.

Yes people in the 1300's got called. I am in the high 1400's and my PE letter got lost in the mail. I only knew about it this week even though they sent me a notice on back in may. You should call ms Vargas at (347) 643-8218 on a weekday and ask if you were sent a pre-employment letter. Best of luck

    Thanks! Will do

Hello all. I am list around list #1300 and have my pre-employment meeting this Friday. If things go well, how long can I expect to get the medical and be hired? A month or a few months?

When did you take the OPA? I’m 1300 something and haven’t received a letter for preemployment yet. I only took the opa in April though.
