ok fine i'll make a comment.

Don't come here!!-- the new work program is  * * * Unbelievably Uneccessary Foul Unclassy Negative Comment Censored * * *

nah im kidding.  half joking.  half serious.
anyways. are there new classes coming out?  i'm wondering cuz they cut the Sat Sun jobs so i don't think they'll be hiring anymore TOs for this year.  but it's Transit so it's not logical right?
Or are they still hiring?  we need more XX!!!!!  please don't let us drown in these 10 trippers all alone.  we will die

You know they removed the new work program for the A from tens. Waiting to see what happens next.

But from what I read there, it not the best choice to drive. Since beginning and ending location may be different. Let’s say beginning your shift at Coney Island, but ending your shift at 179th st Queen.

I drive. I start at 179 and end in Brooklyn, I just park at Stillwell and take the train to 179 to start my shift so that when I get off I just hop in my car and go home.

Also, why aren’t they just assigning runs like hold downs to extras. Like basically a VR would do but for the extras if they’re all actual operators that are out full time.

This would make the most sense, but you know they don’t do things with sense down here.

“Be prepared to stop within 1/2 your range of vision” gets broken down into two parts? That’s news to me.

    1. Watch switches and rails for the route

    2. Look for anything on the trackway that is unsafe to move past.

    That’s how we were taught.

Thank you so much. On your second p/e did you have to fill out the application again or just give in the “homework”?

You’re welcome. Second p/e I had to fill it out again. Homework has to be handed in when you get called for your medical.

For those who took multiple p/e’s, were you contacted for the second p/e by mail like the first?

First was by mail, second was by email, third was by mail, but my first two p/e’s were when they were calling provisionally. The third one was after the list was established.

I wonder if anyone else called before has been considered for the January 28 class? Maybe they are just starting to fill it. If so I may have a chance to get in there but if not, whatever class is next is my turn! Can't wait.

I’m 74* and I’m in the January 28th class. Did my medical on 12/4.

There hasn't been 2 classes a month. That's only happened now in January, and I could even see the January 28 class taking place instead of the February class, since there still hasn't been an announcement of a february class at this point.

Also, there was a month skipped before. I don't remember exactly but it may have been either October or November that went by without a class.

And as it has been pointed out, they could stop hiring for a few months at any point as they have in the past.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be optimistic, I'm just saying hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Ultimately we will all get a shot though, so it's all good.

I think June and October were the months that were skipped.

I am hearing very conflicting statements regarding the drug tests...  Some are saying the drug tests expire 30 days and some are saying 90 days. I am  reading  the p/e paperwork expires in 90 days as well.  Can someone  give me accurate information in regards to overall p/e expirations please????

The drug tests expire in 90 days, hence why they tell you to look out for an email in 3-90 days. I don’t recall how long it is for the paperwork.

Just got off the phone with ms Vargas . Last number appointed for the January 7 class is 757 (list number) and she says the class isn’t filled yet . So I’m very hopeful and keep checking for those emails :) I’m 101*

she doesn’t have any word yet on a February class but I know they’ll be one because of the rate they are calling us , so high in list numbers .

Are you sure the January 7th class is for Train Operator? I was there yesterday for medical, list number 74*, and the class I’m in starts January 28th.

You’re going to be all over the place! First week is at PS 248 then you get your schedule, you’re gonna be going to every yard weekly, getting familiar with dispatcher offices, towers etc. 7am-3pm on your road days you’ll start at 9am. Congrats and good luck.

    Road days are 9-5?

I don’t understand how you guys leave so late. I got there at 7am for my first PE in June for the conductor position and left around 11 and I went in for the TO PE last week and left at like 11:15

It depends on how much the lab is backed up. Current Mta employees take precedence over pre employments. The first time I went I didn’t get out until 5pm, last time I went I got out at 11:30am.
