Yeah that’s one type of Kaka bag. For 130 Livingston it’s not mandatory to have the bag yet, you can if you want since the class is the 17th. Once they give you you’re tools it will help to have the bag because carrying them with the books in a duffle bag or similar is irritating! I tried that by getting the husky tool bag, that was a dub!

    Thanks man

Congrats and good luck! You can bring a backpack for the first week or two of orientation at PS 248. When you get your schedule and start going to the yards you have to have a bag that can be carried by hand, you aren’t allowed to cross tracks with a bag on your shoulders! So either a duffle or a “Kaka” bag, which has a handle on the side and the straps can be zipped up. Also a gray shirt lol, dark, light, doesn’t matter.

What about the orientation at 130 livingston, on the paper it says no bag, and were you referring to this bag

Congrats to everybody sworn in today!

Now I actually have a question: I have a company holiday party tomorrow night, then the medical on Friday morning. Would it be problematic if I consume alcohol? Not sure what kind of tests they run during medical.

@TO legacy If possible, could you share some insight?

They do piss test, they dip a stick in it and pop up several colors,  they match it with the bottle. I dont know what they was looking for. But it was several things like blood sugar, protien , other wierd stuff never heard of. I don't think a little would hurt , but you don't wanna go there hung over. Ekg, eye, audio, wouldn't hurt. But drinking may raise blood pressure. Best to avoid it. Youll need the energy,  its going to be a long day

For those of you in the Nov 26th class. This is just a suggestion. Start reading the first 38 rules in the Rule book. Then read Train Operator and Conductor as you need to be conversant in titles that are similarly engaged in the movement of trains. I will be going around the induction class asking everyone to join a Slack group that I created. It will help with sharing info as pertains to our induction group. I will then make class groups which will help with studying and comparing notes.

Hey im interested can you swnd me a link

Sorry but this post is BS. I know you meant well when you wrote it and I dont mean to attack you, but you are wrong. The fact is that my list number is somewhere between 1-250 (being careful with my identity). Yes you read that correctly, under 250. And this has been my 2nd P/E without a call back (first one was in may). Telling people to sit back and be patient and wait for their list number is a load of BS. What I learned about the MTA throughout this whole process is that getting selected is either a) it is completely random, b) there are fools working there who jumble the list numbers around/make mistakes, or c) there are more nefarious reasons on who gets selected which I will not get into.

The only thing I can tell you about me personally is that I dont do drugs and have never failed a drug test, and I am also currently employed at a reputable company. so me not getting selected has nothing to do with my background. A person like me and with a VERY high list number should have been called months ago and the fact that I have still not received anything debunks your theory about "being patient". This "hiring" process has been nothing short of a disrespectful mess. I would imagine there are other people like me with high list numbers who have been skipped over due to 1 of the reasons i gave above and its not fair to any of us.

Dude i think you should call them , you shouls of been called for another drug test since u passed 3 months time , someyhing is definitely  wrong , check if they got the correct email on file.

For those of you who received the p/e letter : Are you missing page 4 of the on the preemployment application? I believe that is the page which asks you about any past arrests or criminal convictions.

I did the pe 3 times , i made copy of my application and just looked through them. And i never filled out a page 4 , i dont even remember writing anything abt criminal conviction for p/e, they only ask criminal history on the home work, which you will get at pe.

I’m not sure if I remember exactly how the packet goes, but I believe there’s a section that ask for arrest and outcome. Then there’s a section that ask for convictions and that may be what they’re asking dispositions for. Again what I did (doesn’t mean you have to do the same) I came in with all my dispositions, being that I went through numerous government background checks and they all asked about my violation, which was dismissed and sealed! However they wanted the disposition, so to avoid MTA doing the same I just had it ready. I don’t want anyone to be delayed for something so simple, especially if it can be avoided by being prepared!

I believe you should be able to contact Albany’s office and have them mail you an official copy. Again might want to google their number and verify with them if this is an option.

Thanks man , i might as well just go get everything, just hope i dont get denied.

Might want to scroll up and take a look at the earlier posts, you don’t need it at P/E. When you come back for medical you will need disposition. When I handed in MY paperwork I had all my dispositions, one being a violation where the charges were dismissed and they took that one as well as the others!

On the homework its writes if its sealed you dont have to put it down , most dismissals are sealed.  Should i still put those down
