First, did you look at the handouts?

Second, remember two terms: pivot point and reference point. The pivot point is the object the rear tire "pivots" around when making the turn. The reference point is the thing you "refer" to when making the turn.

For the standard 90 degree right turn, your reference point is the vertical bar to either the curb or the left rear bumper of the car which is parked adjacent and initially perpendicular to you.

Make sure you also keep your four feet on your right side as well. The easiest way to do this is to put yourself over the white dotted line. As a result of you doing this, not only will you have the space to make a wide turn, but you won't have to worry about this since this is one of the things you always have to do.

I would encourage you to look at and print the 5th and 6th pages of the handouts. If the handouts are too small, you can copy and paste the image into Microsoft Word, make the images bigger by pulling the corners and print them out.

    Good luck!!

Thank you so much young I will put that into practice tomorrow

I don't think so, because you were never removed from the list. Therefore, if I was you, although it's going to be annoying, I would get a hold of somebody at Livingston Street, either at 347-643-8229/30/31/32 or Ms. Chestnut at 347-643-8213 and see what they have to say.

Believe it or not, my name was not removed from the list either especially after this incident took place. Interesting, right?

It is, thanks young, I will try to call someone at Livingston

Hey young, I checked that dcas website my name is there, what should I look for or keep an eye on?  Thanks for your answer

Hi young, so I went down to dcas to find out about my name restore and they told me that I did not get a confirmation letter because I was never removed from the list, I was marked as not qualified for the job when I went down there, because I didn’t have the CDL permit, but since i got it now they already removed that condition, so is it the same as restoring your name back to the list?

On March 15 I got a phone call to report to 180 Livingston st. to start pre-employment on Monday the 18th. On Wednesday the 20th I received another call via Chestnut to come back on Monday the 25th to do medical and finish the pre-employment process. That day I finish, got my pass number and all to start class on Monday April 1.

Congrats!! With a list number in the 1600's, I would have probably been in the same boat as you if it wasn't for this incident that took place...I'll keep you folks updated regarding my status...

So you probably not only did it recently, but you also missed the cut-off point as well. Next time the HR Department requests names from DCAS, you should be included in that list.

Thanks young for all that info

Thank you so much Young for your answer,  when I call the DCAS number they tell me that my name has being marked as not qualified for certification from this list , is it because I wasn’t ready at that time?

So the "unthinkable" happened today, which I'm still at complete shock over:

I arrive upstairs shortly after 7 AM and get a ticket number of A103. At around 10:45 AM, myself and a bunch of "potential" station agents got called into a small room on the right side. The HR person states that, in order to be fair, he would be calling people by their ticket numbers in numerical order based on who was in the room. I kept track and he called ticket # 107, followed by 112, 117, 121, 122, 132, 135, 136 & 137. Once the room only had four people left, the HR person glanced at my ticket number. He said that it was an "honest mistake" which I personally found to be bu**sh**, especially with the "1-in-3" letter that I got for the Track Worker position, plus this, this & this article. Fortunately I was able to take my paperwork with me so I have a record that I was there, both this past Thursday and earlier today, while they do not!! Nice, right?

Therefore, my next step is to type a letter to President Byford and Cuomo about what happened. Afterwards, I plan on restoring my name to the list again, but not in the immediate future. As a result, although I've helped a huge number of you, if I'm quiet or inactive for a long period of time, you'll know why...

(And I'm crying as I type this. I can't believe this happened to me.)

To restore your name to the list follow the instructions in this post. Should be self-explanatory. If you still need help, I can put together a "sample" e-mail for you.

First, please be careful with the CAPITAL LETTERS as per the guidelines of the website under "Forum Etiquette." It would be easier for all of us to read your posts if you do not use CAPITAL LETTERS like you did.

Second, to restore my name to the list, I also had to go through DCAS (aka Citywide Administrative Services). Once you email them, which I would recommend you do ASAP, you will receive something in the mail shortly after confirming that your name has been restored to the list.

Third, keep an eye out on this website by either typing your last name or "04600" in the search box on the top right. When the HR office requests a list of names from DCAS, the webpage will be updated a few days later. Shortly after you'll get a letter in the mail inviting you to report for pre-employment processing.

Thank you so much Young for your answer,  when I call the DCAS number they tell me that my name has being marked as not qualified for certification from this list , is it because I wasn’t ready at that time?

Instead of physically doing down there, you can try to email them using the information which is in this post.

    Hope this helps.

Hi; I WENT DOWN TO LIVINGSTON ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO BUT DID NOT HAVE CDL AND THEY GAVE ME A LETTER WITH A NUMBER TO CALL BACK WHEN READY SO I CALLED AND NOW THEY TOLD ME TO CALL CITY WIDE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, IS THAT OK ? WHAT SHOULD I DO? THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWER

    Update:

So I made it down yesterday. At about 11:30 AM, I get called up to the front counter in order for the HR Dept. to go over my paperwork. When they go over my paperwork, they tell me that the laboratory to take the drug test is backed up and I would have to come back in 90 minutes to get the drug-test transmittal form. Since I was anxious to go to work, they gave me another paper and I asked if I can come back on Monday at 7:30 AM and they said "yes".

Again, my list number is in the 1600's and I restored my name back to this list, before the list expires this January.

HI YOUNG, MIND IF I ASK YOU HOW YOU RESTORED YOUR NAME TO THE LIST?  BECAUSE I CALLED THE 347-643-7413; AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL CITY WIDE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE?

  11. Hi, I got a interview letter, got the brown envelope and filled out some paper in Brooklyn, but since I had pending tickets could not proceed with other tests, I was given a letter to resolve the issue and call back a phone number for next appointment when done, do I still need to restore my number to the list?  Thanks in advance for the answer
