  1. How long does it generally take for ms Vargas to get back to you via text or email? I left her both and no respond back yet. Or do I need to keep calling I believe someone stated that. Ms Vargas email is Michelle.rivera-vargas@nyct.com correct? Thanks for the help

I always thought parking tickets just go away it’s kinda hard to remember parking tickets from when I was 18. Definitely confused here as well. And as far as yours it’s considered pending until it’s resolved. Happen to me when I went in for BO

On the paper is believe it says PENDING parking violations

  3. I just received the call, text, and email also it’s been so long I forgot my list number lol, I have to give my answer and all paperwork by next Thursday. How soon after turning it in do you think they will contact me to come in?? Does anyone have any idea?

Okay , thank you NYYankee...but I’m list number 4xxx.  As of the 28th, I was not on one.  I just checked today and I’m now on an outstanding certification as of the update today...so....I guess a lot is going to be going on soon?

How can I check again if I’m certified or have a outstanding certification again?

Take it with a grain of salt but we actually asked my instructor if he was moving on to the next class after us (we start yard posting in 10 days) and he said there are no scheduled classes for the rest of the year. Hate to be the bearer of bad news if that is true but I don't want anybody to get their hopes up too much. He might be wrong but he's also one of the more senior schoolcar TSSs so he would be one to know.

Damm this is very disappointing, I just wanna be a T/O already ugh......

I took it but I feel like they robbed us with that, now they have ez pass tolls which diminishes the whole purpose of having that position. Whoever took that exam should either be refunded or given an option of having a better spot in which ever position they want to apply for.

I was reading the job description of bridge and tunnel officer, most don’t know it’s not only a collect toll position, you actually do a lot more, your armed with a firearm, you patrol areas, you make arrests, yes they don’t have any need for us to collect tolls anymore but a lot of people are retiring, and from what I was reading from another forum there’s plenty of things to do. I totally forgot about to exam to be honest when I got the letter in the mail I was shocked.

  7. Good morning everyone, totally off subject of train operator but while the majority of us are waiting to go in for second PE, has anyone taken exam 5606 bridge and tunnel officer back in 2014? They finally established the list numbers for those that took it. I would love either position to be honest, but I think TO would be the quickest for me cause I already done my first p/e.

🥺I’ve been mentally prepared to leave my job by September. So anxious to leave, list number 137x here. Looks like I might have to wait longer. Was looking forward to leaving my job already.

Man, I been with my job 12 years and I just retired from it, I’m taking this time to travel now with my fiancé cause I know once I start the mta it’s gonna be a minute before I get to travel. This process has been slow as hell but I know eventually I will be called, I have no issues so once I get called it should be a smooth process, I can’t do a job with no pension anymore, they just took a vote for the second time for a union and it failed for the second time, very disappointing, so I had a chance to retire from my job and I took it. I’m taking a big leap but sometimes you have to take a Chance in life! I’m so ready for the MTA to be my life long job.

    My list # is 161*

I went Friday AM for my second PE ( 1st was 11/29 )

It was really quiet and I was out by 11am. Igor(?) told me that there would be an August class  but they didn’t have an exact date yet and really had no idea about classes going forward.

A conductor who was there for a random did tell me that they were expecting mass retirements over the next few years and that they would be hiring lots of TO’s

My first p/e was 12/3 so I should be expecting a letter or email soon I hope, did they email you or call you? And did you know a week in advance that you had to go or was it the same week?

The only things you’ll be lifting is your 30 lb bag during school car, and yourself out of bed to goto work lol.

Apply handbrakes could take a toll on your back if you do it improperly, but other than that, not really.

    Lmao ok cool thanks jay

  11. Does train operator consists of lots of heavy lifting or is it mainly just operating trains?  Cause requirements say required to lift I’m just trying to figure out what kinda lifting it is. I’m into fitness so it would be nice to get a pump in thru out the day.

No they dont make you run on a treadmill, and no you dont have to strip down to boxers. The only time you "strip" is when you take your shirt off for the ekg. The doctor also checks your neck size with a measuring tape I believe the cut off for men was 17 and your BMI cant be 35 or over.

Ok appreciate the help I’m about to go measure my neck now lol

  13. 1 hour ago, Schecter said:

Yeah no there isnt I did ekg first and then waiting like half an hour and wait for the diabetes check but then they sent me to do hearing instead, waiting another hour to do the urine diabetes check, and then the vision and weight last... took like 3 hours I was like really

Oh so that’s everything they do for medical? I was wondering what exactly they do, I’ll make sure to bring both pairs of reading glasses. Do they make you run on like a treadmill or something for the ekg test? And do you have to like strip down to boxers?

Yeah my list number is in the very low 1300s and I cant wait to be called as well looks like you and I have a while until then 😭 lol

Lol, don’t tease, as long as I get in I don’t care how long I have to wait. Besides if I already did one PE it shouldn’t be that much longer, def less than a year. Guess I’ll continue hearing plane engines a little while longer! 😔

  15. Congrats to everyone getting called, texted, etc. I’m list number 18xx, went to the first PE early December, hope I hear something sooner then later, I been with my job over 11 years but no pention, so I’m at the stage where I just wanna start a career and stay there the rest of my life until I’m ready to retire. Good luck to everyone that started and everyone that’s waiting to be called.
