Got the call to report for final processing on 1/2 also..the message wasn't the clearest. The things to bring are what? How much did she say the money order should be, $88.20?

I also  got the call but missed the part about the money order, she said many things fast. I know she mentioned the usual forms of identification: social security, drivers license or drivers permit and birth certificate. She also asked for record of any criminal convictions (possibly also any arrests, I can't remember exactly what she said). I know they have asked for an $87.00 money order before but I'm not sure if that's the amount they want us to bring on January 2nb.

Was told to call Ms. Chestnut as she is handling this exam #. I tried calling twice that day, no answered. I was hoping since I was in the building I would have wanted to talk to her face to face but no answer and didn't know which floor/office she would be.

I'm on 7612 and haven't been called for it, but I'm almost done with the process of 7105. Maybe if we have been called from one list we will not be called from the other.

In the name of clarity...No more new-hires period or no more ppl to start the pre-employment process?

I asked the lady that exact question and all she said was "everything; class and hiring".

She was definitely a bit pissed about me being there going by the way she looked at me. It's possible she just wanted to get rid of me with that answer...

I got a phone number for someone in the hiring department. She told me that all vacancies are full for 11/12 just like Racneb mentioned. So yup, I’m thinking all of us who had medicals on 10/23-10/25 are going to be for 11/26. Fingers crossed.

I can confirm that today it seemed like no one was doing final processing before training class. All the people that where there where doing the paperwork that I did on my first appointment before the urine sample.

Let us know how it went today.

It went like I expected, they said the same thing and there is nothing to be done about it and they also said that  human resources does what they are told to do - MTA said no more people for now - no matter my personal circumstances. I'm coming to terms with it and look forward to the future.

Hopefuly it doesn't take a year to hear back from them.

Trying explaining about college, having to dropped out, and paying out of pocket to hear that news. Maybe it would be enough to help them push you through.  All the best. Be positive and think positive.

    I will.

Seriously.  Like many others, I did my drug test about 2 weeks ago and was hoping to have been in the 10/29 training.  I put my vacation time and last Thursday by 4 PM I retracted my vacation time. I know it wasn't possible to be call for medical and to head for training by today, Monday.  I hope because of you dropping out of college you are accepted in the 11/12 training. Just remember,  every disappointment is for a reason. Don't rush it.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I hope that me showing up tomorrow won't piss them off and cause them to retaliate in some way.

  9. I just received this email after getting the call earlier today stating the same thing:

"As per our conversation we regret to inform you that there was a reduction in vacancies for the position of OA Bus Operator and as a result, the processing appointment scheduled for Tuesday 10/30/2018 has been canceled. Your name will remain on the list for consideration as more vacancies become available.

    Thank you."

I'm still processing all this in my mind. College semester which I paid for myself  and two unpaid days of drug testing all gone up in smoke.

I would still go down tomorrow, to 180 Livingston. Sometimes they make mistakes. Show your email when you get and see if they process you for fingerprints and photo ID. Bring a $87 money order.

That's a good idea. Might as well give it a shot after all this process I've gone through.

I should've asked the lady what it means exactly when she said all vacancies are full...does that refer to the class on November 12 or does that refer to all hiring?

  11. I was called to show up for the third time to180 Livingston tomorrow, also I received an email with the details of the appointment. The email also says that I'm being considered for the November 12 class. I just received a phone call stating that all vacancies are full and that I will be contacted when there are more available.

I had dropped out of college for this and also gave plenty of notice to my employer about the MTA hiring process. I'm devastated.

    Incredible.

Maybe it depends on your list number if MTA is calling base on people's listed number. I know the next class starts 10/29. However,  if they call you, you will have to opt out 10 days from classes. Maybe you can speak to your professor(s) maybe you can submit your assignment(s) online or via emails to them and hopefully still be consider being in class(es). Or you will have to forfeit college credits or MTA training. Either or.

My list number is 13XX. I don't know if that number makes it more or less likely to get called soon. In any case I would take the MTA over college since I'm still years away from graduating. I was told that attendance is mandatory, no remote work option.

  13. Hello, on October 9th I went in for the urine test. Question: I'm currently taking a college class that ends around the end of December this year, I'm afraid the MTA might call me to start training before my college class ends...what are the chances of that happening?

It would be frustrating to do all that school work and then cut it short of completion.
