My Safgard account works now. There's a bunch of shoes that I see on the website. Does it really matter which one I get?

I got the Cats and they're def comfortable. Was gonna originally go with the Timbs, but they're insulated, so that would've sucked in the summer.

Not happening lol and got u to thank tbh.. been following this forum for 8+month... I have 6+ month of documentation from my sleep doctor.  I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea.. not severe.. doesn't require c pap machines.. only was recommended to continue losing weight (lifestyle change)

Lost 50 pounds since and have 4 different clearance letters from my doc. So def listening to ya story was motivational bro 💪🏾

That's what's up bro. The beauty of following this forum! Wish I was hip to it before being called in for medical to avoid having to be placed on med hold for apnea and delaying my employment since '21...see you on the 10th!

Id recommend you stay the course for now at NYCT, since who knows what wrenches theyll throw you at LIRR

I was thinking the same think. I got my foot already in the door and last thing I want to do is shoot myself in the foot by losing this MTA chance just to try and get into LIRR and possibly not even getting in. Ty!

  5. Good Afternoon All!... Would like some advice/input. I've already been appointed to the April 10th class(congrats to all who will be there). Would you disregard an email inviting you to the 2nd round of the hiring process to become an Assistant Conductor for the LIRR? Been waiting close to 8 yrs for the MTA, but wondering if LIRR would be the better choice of the two as far as pension, union and such.

I just got called for OPA on the 17th, all this time I thought this list was dead.  Now I don't know what to do, part of me doesn't want to miss this opportunity but I'm also in a point of my life where I have a set schedule and a family.  My list number is 94XX.  Anyone in a similar situation?  How do you manage family time/work balance?

Speaking for myself: I too already have a set schedule when it comes to family shit(father of 2 young ones), etc. BUT I'll rearrangement my whole life for a chance to work for the MTA. My current job is shit, I don't have any family hookups and was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth, so by any means necessary to secure a good career for my family's livelihood.

So I am also on the recently certified list and I have a higher list number than you but you were called before me for preemployment and have already received a conditional offer. Maybe they call the people who were on medical hold first. That seems fair. Which date is your medical scheduled for?

Tomo @7. And I quoted April 2nd based on someone's reply on here. Didn't have the heart to tell them that's a Sunday lol

    What is your list number?

34XX. Should've been employed back in 2021, but got a big ass neck :( and got placed on med hold cuz of sleep apnea and did not come off it until 2022. And did not make the cutoff(by a week) when they recertified the list. Been close to a decade wait for me, so hopefully my family and I have the happy ending we deserve to have.

When you went for pre employment? And after what else did you need to do.

Went for pre-employment on the 15th. Nothing else was asked from me, aside from the letter asking me to return back on Fri.

They move super quick once you get called in for pre-employment.

I got hired after my first one, so anything is possible. Plus as I said earlier they are planning a class for April 2 of 50 students so cross your fingers

My letter said, being considered for April 10th on my conditional offer....Maybe 2 classes being considered?

How long were u there? Just asking because I have to go in tomorrow and I'm hoping I'm not there for 7 hours as I was last time I went for pre employment.

I was there at 630 sharp on Wed and line was at the door, Didn't leave til 430 smh. Positive note; Kevin provided a bit of entertainment throughout the day lol

I got my pre employment appointment email. Can anyone give a timeline of what will happen for me going forward?? When will I start training and eventually start working. I’ve been waiting 8 years since the exam!!! Looking forward to some useful input on this.

What's your list# if you don't mind me asking?

    Thanks, I guess I just wasn't selected

I wouldn't give up hope until the list fully expires. I did my medical just about a year ago and still waiting to be called again. Had to get my # restore on the list and like Harlem said, they really are taking forever calling ppl from the new certified list.

  14. If you can speak loud and clear, you should get a passing grade on the OPA. Just a waiting game at this point. Now, if you're a low talker that stutters/mumbles, chances are you did not pass the Oral Proficiency.

That's why they added the OPA part to this test bc you had/got a lot of Conductors that are very hard to understand when they speak.

Are you saying the person restored in May hasn't been called for another drug test yet? How often does transit request a certified list? Guess it'll be a long wait.

Got my name restored back on 4/19 due to not showing up for medical, but didn't show up since I didn't have enough data to clear my med hold(from my first medical appt) at that time smh. Still waiting and Ohla said to keep waiting when I called her a month ago. Gonna try again next week. List# 34xx.

I sent a email to reinstate my name on 8/19/21, I was then called to 180 Livingston for pre-employment on 8/26/21. I started school car on 9/13/21.

I had no wait for "next certified list" or was I just lucky with perfect timing..

That's dope. Sounds like you reinstated at the perfect time. Still waiting for my 2nd round conductor canvas/appt letter email since I got placed on med hold. Got my reinstatement letter 5 months ago smh.

Would anyone know when the MTA renews their lists? I renewed my number back in April but I haven't heard anything yet. I recently sent an email to them but they said I would have to wait until the MTA request a refreshed list.

I called them regarding this. I got my reinstatement letter back on 4/19(was on med hold). Lady said I "missed the cutoff". Said they're going off the active list that's active until 4/4. Going to assume that you and I should be on the next list they establish.
