At the last train operator's meeting, it was mentioned that November will be when Transit stop hiring train operators.

I’m hearing that too, I’m going ask some of Schoolcar TSS

but I’m understanding that they not calling huge amount of people anyone

    that they slow down

they also have the people that got fired that had failed practical, signal, or exam trying to come back

in my induction there was  whole class that had failed the first signal test 15 multi and 10 fill in even the retake

  2. Hello everyone I was at p.s 248 my Schoolcar TSS told me  they only hiring about 40 people and also next month too

something like that not like my induction with like 100+ people

Finished my final signal exam Friday wasn’t bad

    stay focus guys

This zoom session has been so poorly organized.  It's been extremely frustrating.  I really hope the actual job isn't such a mess.

Yo I was sleeping on that zoom called the whole time 😂😂😂 I hope nobody saw that on my Camera, I even peep some people watching tv 😂😂😂

plus this my second time hearing it so I already know what going on

    Hi All

Never thought I'll be back on the forums, but life can be funny this way.
Took T/O exam back in 2017 and few days ago received the invitation to 180 Livingston for pre employment. (list #4705 fyi)
In these years I have completed my BArch and been working in the design industry. It' a predictable 9-6, M-F routine with ok pay and eh benefits.
Has anyone here left a similar field for a T/O position? What was your experience like?

Two other questions come to mind:

    • How much do you rely on the radio to communicate en route?
    • Does anyone commute from NJ?

    Appreciate all the feedback!

I will let everyone in the RTO secret

A division less work easily  to learn

hardly anyone get in trouble like wrong route etc only 1-7 trains

B division hard work more train more problem

    there’s hours

more likely to get in trouble

location wise due to where you live totally up to you

i live in Brooklyn but I love the A division since I’m new I want to learn the rope

easy to go from A division to B  then the other way around

Really? Cuz I have been hearing of a lot of people having to fill G2s and talk to superintendents for accidentally going BIE when the train is not even moving.

I know there was a bulletin for it

I forgot the guy who fought for it

because especially the new tech train it’s easy to drop the handle aka go to BIE

  6. Remember guy if you drop the handle while operating call it in

you don’t get in trouble for that anymore

When train operator don’t call it in and charge up and move is when they get in trouble

as long you didn’t hit a signal or switch don’t worry about dropping the handle

wow i didn't know.  good to know.
the thing is.....would "management" believe us?  or will they need proof like a security camera footage or something?

also.....what's the protocol to follow if god forbid one of us is assaulted?  leave the area of attack, and call it in on the radio and wait for a TSS/union rep to show up?

    thanks

You would call it in to RCC rail control center

    And be Govern by them

    close up your window etc

    And  don’t move that train

Appreciate it! Spoke with Michelle at the office, she said the points won't affect me getting hired but can't move forward with any open tickets. I took the hit closed out the ticket, ill be there tommorow for medical!

Yeah I had to do the same thing for running a red light on my own block because I found a parking and didn’t want to lose it and cop pull me over

  9. You can wear your own shoes

Sketches And other company makes steel toe if you want

but you need to buy it first take it to Superintend with recipe and if they approved it they give a piece of paper you walk around with and you would be allowed to wear it

and you get back 75 dollar back Reimburse
