I recently interviewed for a position with metro north. This position could be define as "safety sensitive" but has nothing to do with driving trains or anything with vehicle operation. Last year I was convicted of a DWAI, please keep the negative, non helpful questions to yourself. No where on the application did it ask for a criminal backround and no where during the interview process did it say anything either. I received a call about a salary and that they were moving forward with my application for hire. It is a violation and not a misdemeanor. I guess my question is what is the likelyhood of this jamming me up in my opportunity for hire. I went through counseling, have a clean record otherwise, have great reviews from my sessions and I have a disposition letter showing it wasent a misdemeanor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did it work out? Were you able to get hired?

I am scheduled to take the initial exam for postilion of conductor trainee for the Metro North in two weeks. I've be searching around on different forums and sites to try and find out what I need to do and to study to prepare for the test. I have gotten mixed answers. Has anyone recently taken it or know what the current format for the test is? Some say its a common sense test with basic reading comprehension and basic math. Any info would help

    Thanks

How did things go with the test?

I went through the whole process.....written test....background check....conditional offer....phyiscal....and it's been about a month and haven't heard anything about hiring.

Does anyone know how long they keep you hanging?  The recruiter said I will be contacted shortly.  That was over 3 weeks ago.

Anyone know when the next class starts?

Did you ever hear back from metro north?

I applied last year but I tested in june, interviewed in July. Given conditional offer end of August  and took PAT and Med early September. Was given start date pending 2nd background and med/PAT. I passed but still waiting on 2nd background. It was submitted from September 26th. When I got the conditional I was told start date was October 30th
