Yeah it’s probably for a drug test then what’s your list number ? This would be my second time going there
My list number is 46xx, around there. I have to complete the pre-employment application and get all the documents together. I need to report on the 9th.

When I type your name into the Active Civil Service List webpage, I see that your list number is 4,3**. As it was previously stated, which you can read below, they are processing the folks whose list numbers is under 2,300, such as 2,299, 2,298, etc. The good news is that my list number for this particular exam is in the 4,700's. Therefore, since they will not reach your list number by the time the certification ends, you are still eligible. All you have to do is to be patient, that's all.
In addition, can you please refrain from posting your entire name on a forum website, which anybody can view as a "guest" at anytime, anywhere in this world?
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Understood. And thank you man, much appreciated

Nope not true at all I believe the starting pay for people coming out this year is around 24ish an hour not sure, i had the pay rate saved to my phone but deleted it unfortunately. You get a raise every year for your anniversary and every May because of the union as well.
How can you call to check on the status of the list and your number?

Like I said in my prior post, my list number for this specific exam is in the 4700's, so it will be a while before they call me for this specific position.
Yeah I’m in the 4400s

First of all, welcome to the Forums and thanks for registering as a member!
Second, I would initially send the documentation without the GED. Depending on how many other people who have a list number which is lower than yours responds to the canvass, chances are they will send you a reply stating that they can not continue until you either locate or obtain a duplicate copy of your GED. However, there is a chance that you might get "lucky" as far as the timing is concerned. If not, worse comes to worse, they'll just ask you to restore your name to the list. What's good though about restoring your name to the list is that this is a "Civil Service" examination in which your list number stays the same, in addition to the fact that the agency is required to go in list number order to fill the vacancies. As a result, when the agency sends out the next canvass email, you will have priority over those who have a higher list number, including myself, since my list number for this particular examination is in the 4700's.
Good luck!!
Did you get called +young+?

Who you talking to?
Mta conductor exam is not out yet. Should be soon. The last exam was out around 2016 and was delayed because of the 2008 established list extended for 6 years
nj Assistant conductor ended already , I think so but I am not sure, you can check nj transit career website for that information.
I was asking about NJ transit conductor but the test is over. I’ll wait for MTA, I’ve got a 2 year wait

How do you apply?

I would try to get recertified you don't want to miss an opportunity, and then have to wait until the MTA decides to spit out another conductor exam. But if you have to wait until April 2020 I would try talking to Ms.Vargas over at 180 and ask her for her advice as well. She's a super sweet lady.
How do we get in touch with her?

The list expires in 2022! Thats a long time. You got to remember, people turn down the job, fail drug tests etc. Might not be in a year but I'm sure they'll reach 4400s before year 2022.
Jeez man! You just gave me so much hope! God bless you!

Strong possibility that they'll get to your number. Maybe a year or two!
Do you really think there’s a possibility I’ll get called in a year or two?

And then they'll start hating train operators and then want the trains to be autonomous next.
You think they’ll ever be autonomous?

Never know but the list expires in 2022. And they are around idk but I think 1800-2000?
Ok. Just gotta have faith and pray. They said the list was only established Feb 2018. Not bad for what’s going to be two years. What did you guys score if you don’t mind me asking? Hopefully they extend this list 🙏🏽

Hey what number are they up to in terms of Pre-Employment?? I figured they’d be in the 2000’s by now or at least heading there. This process is dragging!
Hey guys, I’m number 4400, scored a 95. I shouldn’t have rushed the test. I also saw a lot of people got military credit. How do you think it’s looking for me?

Conductor 6601 Hiring Process

Hey, I see a lot of people questioning if they should jump on this opportunity because they are already at another position. I think you most definitely have to weigh the pros and cons. You have benefits, overtime, can easily hit $100,000 annually once you reach top pay and a full pension. Consider the costs of health insurance. I believe your wife and kids can be covered in transits health benefits plan, correct me if I'm wrong. You also have job security. For someone like myself who has been through tough times I want to make sure my job will be there tomorrow. Job security is of the utmost importance to me.
For the gentleman working for the B.O.E I believe you mentioned you are older, have summers off, are deep into your pension and you like it. If your job is secure, like iron clad, maybe I'd stay.
for the gentleman in retail, now unless you're a manager or u work commission, it doesn't matter, I'd bounce. The only plus I see is if you have some transferable bookkeeping skills. Stay in retail?! No thanks, gimme the homeless and pissed of New Yorkers any day. This is nyc. It's all about the money and being able to afford to live here and provide for your family. Out of pocket health insurance is crazy expensive plus mta has more job security. So what if I gotta work far and crazy hours, we been waiting 7 years for this opportunity.
as for me, someone can take my spot. Literally Just got offered an analyst position yesterday with a start up and the benefits are better than MTA's. I would work remote, so I save money on gas, food and don't have to get up any earlier for my commute. Plus I was a doorman for 9 years. I'm never, ever answering to someone again, have a Shitty schedule, or work weekends. That's a dub. I worked hard and studied hard to get here, with no college degree. Corporate is much easier to deal with than a bunch of pri*cvs who feel entitled or having to go through hoops and bounds for vacation and where everything is based on seniority. No thanks. Unlimited PTO was the icing on the cake.
