Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate the additional info. I'm kind of in a strange crossroads with my life as it is, so getting hired by the railroad would be a decent gig and get me out of the rut that I'm in with my current job.
In the towers that you are primarily alone, are you glued to the screen and sitting at the desk for the full 8-9 hours or you have some flexibility with taking breaks here and there? What do they do about meal breaks and bathroom breaks?
Also, my understanding is that you are basically forced to qualify as Train Dispatcher and then you have the opportunity to bid on different jobs.
