  1. Also, the instructor mentioned there were people who went through Basic Skills in August 2019 and just got invited to the Book of Rules class for May. Anyone know if this is accurate?
  2. Wondering if anyone else is active on this forum and studying for the test on March 5. There were around 30 people at the S&D overview on February 13.
  3. Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate the additional info. I'm kind of in a strange crossroads with my life as it is, so getting hired by the railroad would be a decent gig and get me out of the rut that I'm in with my current job. In the towers that you are primarily alone, are you glued to the screen and sitting at the desk for the full 8-9 hours or you have some flexibility with taking breaks here and there? What do they do about meal breaks and bathroom breaks? Also, my understanding is that you are basically forced to qualify as Train Dispatcher and then you have the opportunity to bid on different jobs.
  4. Hello, I am going to the Block Operator S&D Overview on February 13. I am looking for some insight on what to expect for the actual job of being a Block Operator. Is it as stressful as they make it sound? Are you by yourself most of the time? Is it boring? Just overall impressions of what the job is like.
