    2. The (N) and (R) swap is going to be a problem too as the (R) will lose access to a yard AKA The reason why they HAVE to swap routes in the first place. The (R) could be sent back to Astoria in different ways but not like the way your planning. The <R> makes no sense once so ever. The Jamaica line can’t handle the (J)(M)<R> at the same time this would cause huge delays.

I decided that they should build a new "yard" at Ditmars to have this happen.

And why switch the (D) and (F) lines in Brooklyn? And wouldn’t it be confusing to have the (F) go on its regular route while having another <F> that goes onto the upper 2nd Ave line be confusing? Does it replace the (Q) or does it run in addition to the (Q) and (T)?

I will have the <F> replace the (Q), so that there will be room for the <C> to run to Coney Island via Culver. I will then have the number of stations of the Sea Beach Line converted to express stations. I will leave the (D) and (F) as it is. I will shorten the (H) to run Bedford Park Boulevard to Euclid Avenue only. When this happens, the (C) (circle C) is changed to a <C> (diamond C).

New proposal for IRT Jerome Avenue line.

I saw on IND Second System Track Map proposal that Vanshnookenraggen made and that the (3) was gonna be extended to Bronx using 9th Avenue el and connect to Jerome Avenue. But we can’t do that now since 9th Avenue el is gone. Harlem 148th Street is build and the Yankee stadium is build over the former location of the subway el. My Proposal is called the 7th Avenue-Jerome Avenue link. The (3) would be extended to the Bronx Running underneath the Macombs Bridge. Then stopping at Anderson Avenue after that it’s runs Elevated to 170th Street where’s it then connects to the Jerome Avenue line meeting up with the (4). Finally the (3) terminates at Bedford Park Blvd heading straight to Jerome Avenue yard with the (4) continuing to Woodlawn.

Currently the (4) operates at 13 TPH in the Bronx this leaves plenty of space for the (3) to be extended to Jerome Avenue. The (3) would run at 11 TPH Bringing Jerome Avenue up to 24 TPH. Anderson Avenue would be three tracks to store extra trains during peak hours. This would make Jerome Avenue more attractive as now people have one seat rides to the West Side of Manhattan via 7th Avenue. And less people would be transferring at 149 street to the (2). This would start off as a rush hour only extension to Bedford Park Blvd. And if proven to be popular it will be all Weekday route. Evenings Weekends and Late Nights the (3) will only run up to Anderson Avenue. CBTC would be installed to further encourage ridership and boast up capacity.

Bonus the (4) could be rerouted to 7th Avenue in case of emergencies on Lexington Avenue. And vice versa with the (3) via Lexington Avenue   Similar to the current (2)(5) pattern in the Bronx. Feedback anyone?

    Amiri, that could work (possibly?)

I also have plans that both the <C> and (D) be rerouted to Coney Island via the Culver Line, and (F)<F> to run via West End Line, with the <F> going to the Second Avenue Line, where it will meet up with the (T) service. During rush hours, the (D) makes express stops on the Culver Line while the <C> (which in this proposal, it became a diamond) makes all stops. The (D) makes all stops on the Culver Line in times the <C> is not running.

If there is room, I could put in a <Q> peak express service which combines the old NX and the new Q services.

I will then have the (H) running as the old "C" service that used to run from Bedford Park Boulevard to Rockaway Park or Euclid Avenue. I would then eliminate the (J) and (Z) skip stop, replacing it with the <J> peak express.

I would reinstate the <5> (Nereid Avenue service).

I will have the (N) and (R)'s northbound terminals swapped, with an extra service that is basically the brown M running to 95th Street instead of Bay Parkway (I will call it the <R>) and it will only run during rush hours as an addition to the normal (R) service, helping the number of trains per hour to 36 TPH.

Two new services, the (K) (168th Street to Jamaica-179th Street) and <M> (Metropolitan-Culver peak express) could help with the crowd numbers. During evening rush there could be an option to reroute (B) trains via the (Q) line, and it will be called the <By>. It will jump the number of trains per hour to 20 TPH.

NOTE: The circle C is changed to a diamond C when this new proposal happens.

    Feedback, anyone?

This may sound controversial, but here's my thoughts on a new subway line. There should be an 86th St crosstown line with a connection to the IND Queens Blvd line at 46 St. This new (U) train service would run from it's northern terminus at Central Park West to it's southern terminus at Beach-149 St in the Rockaways. It would also merge with the (A) and (G) trains along it's route. In addition, the (U) train would replace the (R) train on Queens Blvd due to excess capacity. Once the (R) train is taken off Queens Blvd, this is where the real fun begins. A new northeast Queens line would be built at the site of the 11th St cut which would need to be modified to curve north. Such a line would run under the streets of 21st St, Astoria Blvd, 112 St, and the Horace Harding Expressway. If all of this is actually built, we would see major development.

Why would you name that service (U)? Its sounds like the word you so try another letter please.

  5. NEW-R

    Options/proposals for J/L/M/R trains

    1. Remove the Z service (skip-stop), and have the J train run every six minutes.
    2. Rebuild the L line with express tracks, and create a new <L> peak express service.
    3. When possible, run a new service similar to brown M service but between Metropolitan Avenue and 95th Street only, call it the <R> and run that service only during rush hours as an addition to the regular R service to ease crowds.
    4. Have the R terminate at Whitehall by splitting the R into half. Then, run a new Chambers Street to 95th Street service full-time.
    5. Run a new <M> peak express service, but it should not overlap with other express services, to boost travel times.

    Any feedback on this, please?

My proposal is a (6)/:8: skip stop on the Pelham Line. The skip stop would work as follows:

(6)/:8: trains make all stops between BB/City Hall and Lex/59th Sts. Then:

    68st :8:

    77st (6)

    86st (6):8:

    96st :8:

    103st (6)

    Brook Av :8:

    Cypress Av (6)

    143st :8:

    149st (6)

    Longwood Av :8:

    Hunts Point Av (6):8:

    Whitlock Av (6)

    Morrison Av (6)

    St Lawrence Av :8:

    Castle Hill Av (6)

    Zegera Av :8:

    Westchester Sq (6)

    Middletown Rd :8:

    Burke Av (6)

    Pelham Bay Park (6):8:

Currently, it's a 26 stop ride on the (6) from Lex/59th to Pelham Bay Park. It's 12 stops on the <6> but that's only capable of peak direction express. Plus, you have to factor in the fact that most people are using local stops which means you're losing time waiting on the transfer and not saving as many stops. Since this is both skip stop in Manhattan and The Bronx, you're saving time across the entirety of the route. Everyone gets a one seat semi-express ride across the entirety of the (6) line at all times**. It's a 15-16 stop ride on the (4) from Woodlawn so this plan will make the (6) competitive with the (4) in terms of time. Also, since the (6) can run up to 2min headways, even with skip stop you're still looking at 4-5 min waits at skipped stations.

**(except late nights, which I'd have the (6) make all stops)

Why do you need to add a skip-stop on the (6)? The (6) already has an express service. There is no need for a skip-stop service.

Proposal I: Question: is the (M) also running or will it be just the <R> on Metropolitan. You'll still have 12 TPH (can't fix the Williamsburg bridge), and splitting that between 3 routes and peak direction express service would be a mess.

Continuing with my New World New York proposal posted back last year, having just the < R > on Metropolitan would actually screw Williamsburg people who needed a direct access into Midtown. I decided to keep the while the < R > is running.

  9. New World New York project

    • Proposal A Implement the K service and run from 207th Street / Inwood to Jamaica–179 Street, to boost the Queens Boulevard service. Also, revert the E service back to its old express route.
    • Proposal B : Make the C a part-time route, run 168th Street to Lefferts Boulevard instead of 168 Street to Euclid Avenue and call it the < C >.
    • Proposal C : Eliminate the J/Z skip-stop; reconstruct the Jamaica Line because of its curves and then implement a peak express < J > service.
    • Proposal D Return the N and R to its pre-1987 routes. The W service will be renamed < N >.
    • Proposal E Make the A run 207th Street to Lefferts Boulevard or Rockaway Park. The A to Rockaway Park service becomes full-time and it replaces the Rockaway Park Shuttle.
    • Proposal F Implement a new service, H, running from Euclid Avenue to Mott Avenue – Far Rockaway.
    • Proposal G Return the G back to its pre-2010 route.
    • Proposal H : Implement a Woodlawn Express service, the < 4 >, to boost travel times on the 4 route.
    • Proposal I : Run a new service departing Metropolitan Avenue along the brown M route and terminate at 95th Street instead of Bay Parkway, call it the < R > and run only part-time as an addition to the regular R service.
    • Proposal J Restore the Concourse peak express service, the < D >, to boost travel times on the D.

    Services included in the proposal

    (A)(B)<C>(D)<D>(E)(F)<F>(G)(H)(J)<J>(K)(L)(M)(N)<N>(Q)(R)<R>(S)

    (1)(2)(3)(4)<4>(5)(6)<6>(7)<7>

  10. I also agree with proposal G. The H train, which it should run from Flushing-Main Street to Franklin Avenue, could possibly replace the Franklin Avenue Shuttle. The H will run mostly express on the IND Crosstown Line, supplementing the G local service. This would require additional lines and connections that the proposed route needs to be constructed.

  11. I agree with A, D, E and F. Why you are disagreeing proposals B and C? The elimination of the D, M and Z services makes the system simpler and easier to use. The K imitates the brown <R> service, while the T is for trains running to Metropolitan Avenue via the Nassau-Fourth Avenue connection.

I propose a new West End Line service, the V, that should run exclusively only from 62nd Street to Coney Island–Stillwell Avenue on the West End Line. When that happens, it would use a periwinkle bullet and the remaining section from 62nd Street to Ninth Avenue and the connection to BMT Fourth Avenue Line must be demolished.

  12. Proposals

    • Proposal A : Extend the W to 95 Street, and make the R terminate at Whitehall.
    • Proposal B : Eliminate the D by extending the B's northern terminus to include 205th Street and making the B a full-time route.
    • Proposal C : Eliminate the M and parts of the M will be served by E and F trains.
    • Proposal D Eliminate the J/Z skip-stop, and replace it with the J peak express.
    • Proposal E : Include the K/T but run Chambers Street (K) or Metropolitan Avenue (T) to 95 Street and make it a full-time route, instead of a part-time route.
    • Proposal F Extend the G towards Flushing-Main Street and include an express counterpart, the H.
    • Proposal G : Eliminate the Franklin Avenue Shuttle totally.
  13. Proposals for reform on the Eighth Avenue Line

    • 60px-NYCS-bull-trans-A-Std.svg.png 207th Street to Rockaway Park-Beach 116th Street (replaces the Rockaway (S)) [Express]
    • 60px-NYCS-bull-trans-Cd-Std.svg.png 168th Street to Lefferts Boulevard [part-time Local] - allows more room for K and H services
    • 60px-NYCS-bull-trans-E-Std.svg.png Jamaica-179 Street to Church Avenue [Express] - will run as express instead of local to boost times
    • 60px-NYCS-bull-trans-H-Std.svg.png Euclid Avenue to Mott Avenue (Far Rockaway) [Local] - replaces parts of (A) service
    • 60px-NYCS-bull-trans-K-Std.svg.png 207 Street to Jamaica-179 Street [Local] - adds additional local service to the Queens  Boulevard Line

Rockaway (S) will be scrapped when this proposal happens

  14. Proposal Changes (MapTrack FA)

    • Extend the northern terminus of the B from Bedford Park Boulevard to 205 Street.
      • Results in allowing more B services to run to 205 Street.
    • A new P service will run through the West End line from 207 Street
    • Terminate the R at Whitehall Street
    • Eliminate the M and replace it with parts of E, F, G
    • Eliminate the J/Z skip-stop, the successor to it is the J peak express service
    • Include a T service but it will run from Chambers Street to 95 Street
    • Give the new Second Avenue Subway service the Y
    • Run a new IRT Third Avenue route, service 8

    Services will include in proposal:

    The services [ A B C E F G H J K L N P Q R S T W Y 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ] will be in the new proposal.

    Eliminated in the new proposal:

The [ D M Z ] trains are eliminated when the proposal happened.

The D is replaced by parts of B and P.

The J/Z skip stop is replaced by the J peak express

Proposal ideas for the New York City Subway, 21 August 2020, page 1 (for lettered lines)

    1. Restore the JFK (JFK) as the NYCS-bull-trans-Ad.svg.
    2. Reroute the (B) to include 205th Street. Note: The (D) would be eliminated and be replaced by the re-routed (B), which would go to Coney Island. There will be the local and express types of B service: local service is the (B), which makes all stops; the express version is the <B>, which runs express in Brooklyn.
    3. Restore the <C> service (running from Bedford Park Boulevard to Euclid Avenue or Rockaway Park) to replace parts of the (B) during AM rush hours and to complement the existing (C) which runs from 168th Street to Euclid Avenue. This is to strengthen the current (C) service. Doing so will force the (B) via the (Q) line, giving it the yellow NYCS-bull-trans-B_yellow.svg.
    4. Make the <F> stop at Bergen Street.
    5. Extend the IND Crosstown Line to Flushing Main Street, and implement a (G)/(H) skip-stop pattern. ((H) is Rockaway Shuttle's internal designation letter.)
    6. Restore the (QJ) service as the NYCS-bull-trans-Jd.svg.
    7. Implement a skip-stop pattern for the Canarsie Line, the (L) and (K).
    8. Eliminate the (M) and replace with parts of the rerouted (E)(F) and <F>.
    9. Restore the (NX) service under the <N> label.
    10. Restore the NYCS-bull-trans-Rd-brown.svg service under the new label, the brown NYCS-bull-trans-P-Std.svg.
    11. Extend the (N) to LaGuardia Airport. When the (N) is extended to LaGuardia Airport, include a new super-express service called the yellow NYCS-bull-trans-I-Std.svg.
    12. Reroute the (Q) via the Sixth Avenue Line, and call it the orange (orangeQ).
    13. Restore the (EE) service as the turquoise NYCS-bull-trans-U-Std.svg, but it would extend to include the Second Avenue Subway.
