I'm waiting for the day I see 100+ people show on the passenger counter for an SBS artic.

An S79 got 56 people on board right now.

yeah, speaking of 50 people, the Q55 was a MESS this weekend. Overcrowded buses and long waits. Took an hour for a bus to arrive only to be packed with people

The DOB (Department of Buildings, not Buses) ordered the building vacated. There might be a danger of the building collapsing partially (or worse) if the bus is moved.

If you remember a guy aggressively flagging you down at 34th Street last Wednesday, then that was me.

yeah they probally need to put up some scaffolding or support in order to remove the bus

Though I've noticed the counters on the new 13xx express buses don't seem to show up all the time.

one of the reason could be a broken farebox. i remember riding 1311 on the QM4 once and it rejected my card even though it had enough, and when i checked bustime a few mins after I got on, it did not change (i was the only passenger for the trip and it should had said 1 passenger) sometimes i feel like the cameras on board play a role in the passenger count

    alright, I'll bite.

why would CS part with XD60's aside from summer loans?

I think he might mean XD40s...

doses this mean that cs might  send 60 xc60's to lga?

Could be a possibility. But I think they might just send their NGs to other MTA bus depots

2002 MCI 2858? ran in service today, front and side signs completely broke and it didn't show up on the app so I have no idea what route it ran on. But I saw it on 6th Ave about an hour ago.

Surprised these are still seeing off peak service with around 20 Prevosts at that depot.

The flipdots are pretty rare seeing them off peak...

Prevost 1319 took its place for #23 as that unit went back to its original arrival spot.

So likely, 1319 is going to hit other depots as well just like 23 did?

And shouldn't this topic be in another place? Correct me if I'm wrong

If they were to extend the route, it could be more beneficial. Also, some people prefer riding the bus over the subway because of accessibility, cleanliness, or convenience. It kind of sucks how B51 service was discontinued...

What if the B39 got turned into a crosstown manhattan route extended from Allen Street to 6th ave via Spring and Broome Streets, and possibly extended to bway junction via broadway? Just sharing an idea

That's not inaccurate info. That's a bus going OOS or taking a route off of the BusTime route, which happens often. There are a few deadspots on some routes like the QM2 in Beechhurst where every QM2 will disappear in the route, then reappear further along.

    Yeah this does happen sometimes...

Anyone else notice that real-time data tends to be incorrect or inaccurate for stops that are close to terminals?

you're not the only one. sometimes when i track express buses, they just disappear out of nowhere 2-3 stops away from the terminal. i bet thats because the last passengers got off the bus before the terminal

While not necessary to ring the bell at the last stop, it's standard operating procedure for bus operators to check our buses at each terminal...

We get in trouble if we wind up bringing people into the depot on the bus and they get left behind unannounced... You know, safety hazard and all that.

this happened to me on the Q43 once, i thought this went right to Jamaica Center once but it actually stopped a block or two away
