Believe it or not it depends on which version of the site you get when you sign in.  In the one newer version, all of my applications only say submitted with no other status updates. In the other(older) version, it shows application status beyond just applied or submitted.  It also shows passed prescreening, job filled, etc, and whether or not you pass an interview.  It seems to be random whichever one shows up after I sign in.

Having applied to dozens of positions, those status’ really have no meaning. I’ve had a lot of them say passed prescreening and never hear anything. I’ve also heard responses for ones that just say submitted. Only one I guess that’s accurate is position filled or anything negative so you don’t have to worry about hearing back anymore lol. And as for mine, it just says submitted for loco engineer and I had the open house in September and passed everything.

Well, I got called back for S&D. Not gonna be a fun one, but I think I could do it. But I wonder, how many people are typically knocked out after passing cognitive but before SD?

For those that have recently been saying they’ve been getting responses, are you guys going for engineer or conductor? This has been very confusing since it seems there’s both in this forum. I went to the open house for engineer at the end of September and still haven’t heard back; meanwhile it seems most of you guys getting responses only had to wait two weeks or so.

I have a question, I applied for the Track Worker for LIRR on MY MTA portal and the screening results went from pass pre screening to passed. I just don't want to miss the opportunity. Does anyone know a email or phone number I can call to check what's going on.  It could really help. Thank you

I have had at least a dozen or so applications where mine shows the same thing. I honestly am convinced it means nothing. Unfortunately there is no easy way to get in contact with them, especially the specific HR department for which you applied. Even positions where I’ve had 1 on 1 interviews with, they basically always ghost you if you’re not chosen and won’t even reply anyway with a simple denial so you can move on. Only thing you can do is wait and hope for the best!

Hey everyone just curious what to expect at the open house?

Be prepared for a long winded test. Not really one you can prepare for. Things like vocabulary, flow charts, etc. There’s a small interview after as well. As long as you go into it with confidence you should be fine

Hey what’s up everyone, new to the forum. I wanted to know, is there anyone in here that went to open house at the end of September ? And if so did you hear anything back about the s & d overview ? Thanks !

I was there too. I passed everything at the open house but still waiting. Same as the others, I’ll post it here if I’m the first to hear anything. I think I can speak for everyone here in the MTA already that everything takes a loooong time. But good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone I’m on the NYCT side of MTA but currently reside on the border of queens and LI. Can anyone tell me what’s the best way of getting my foot into LIRR whether it’s this title or any other? Thank you well appreciated.

I’m in the same position. Best advice is just apply to any and all jobs you are at least close to qualified for according to the posting. I’ve been with NYCT for a year and a half and have like 60 applications since then. Been on a couple interviews but never any luck. I got called for a recruiting event for this position (Locomotive Engineer) at the end of September so hoping my luck will change, and yours too!

I got a speeding ticket in January and got called in tomorrow for final processing. My abstract is clean and the ticket it still pending. Would that still be a problem from getting the job if i tell them. What should i do

I would definitely tell them, i’m pretty sure it’s a crime if you don’t lol. There’s a bunch of paperwork to fill out before you go for final processing so I would just include that ticket on there where it asks. They’d rather have honesty than anything!

If you guys get an official letter with your list # in the mail, let me know please. My fiance's brother took the exam but ran into a snag with the experience so its up in the air. Also, if anybody is assigned to Power Dept., I can give you some insight. I'm in Cable Section in Power Dept. Thanks.

I never got it in the mail, I only saw it on the paperwork when I went a few weeks ago for the second drug test. My list # was in the 160s but I’m not sure if they’re even going in order lol

Just wanted to provide an update, there is a pending class in December. For those who are still waiting to be called for medical, will be contacted when the transit electrical helper hiring process resumes. This is the response I have received from Michelle.

funny how they give different responses to everyone... thanks for the update though!

When you were filling up paperwork Before the drug test didn’t they give you your list number to put down on the paper? Because the guy at the front counter give me my list number and said to make sure to put it in appropriate box on the paperwork

No, I had left it blank and they never gave it to me to put anywhere. I heard back from Michelle already and all she said was “Your application is currently under review.  You will be contacted when the hiring process have commenced”. I’ve yet to be told my list number still...

  11. So I called that number you guys have left, and pressed 3. The gentleman I spoke with gave me the same email (michelle.lewis2@nyct.com) and suggested I contact her to ask for more info. I mentioned to him that it seems like some people are in different stages and some have even been hired already and he said something like “Don’t worry about others, they may just be feeding you BS”... seems a little sketchy, but I’ll see if Michelle replies to the email. I haven’t received my list number either, which I mentioned on the phone and in the email. The last step I’ve done is the drug test on 10/7.
