What i what to know is can (M) cars run on the (L) cause of this...

The (M) line shares the same equipment models with the (L) line of those 64 newer R160A sets on car body numbers #8313-#8376, which goes for the same, exact reason for both the  (J) and (Z) lines since those sets are out of ENY. But if you’re talking about the newer R160A sets on car body numbers #8377-#8652 and #9943-#9974 that are currently being used on the (J)(M) and (Z) lines, then those sets cannot run on the (L) line since those sets are not fully converted into CBTC and is not ATO operated just yet.

8376 is in service on the (M) to Middle Village as we speak…

I thought Canarsie CBTC cars couldn’t run on Queens Blvd?

Like I said before, the (M) line can also use all of the newer R160A sets from ENY as well just like how the (J) and (Z) line does. And Canarsie-14th Street CBTC cars can run on the Queens Boulevard Line. So, within the coming days, I hope to expect a newer R160A cars with the Marc Jacobs ad-wrapped on car body numbers #8409-#8412 and #8453-#8456 to run in passenger service on the (J) and (Z) lines!

    After it's unwrapped, probably.

I mean, they gotta use them on the (J) and (Z) lines at least once. Look at the newer R160A sets with the ZOHO One ad-wrapped on car body numbers #9348-#9352, they were mainly used on the (E) line. But that set was also  shared with the (R) and (F) lines. But I have yet to see them on the (G) line.

They probably have since the (J) is free to use any train ENY has unlike both the (L) and (M)

I thought the (M) line can also use all of the newer R160A sets from ENY as well just like how the (J) and (Z) line does. But I know that the (L) line can only use car body numbers #8313-#8376 due to the restriction along the Canarsie-14 St line since they use the older version of the CBTC, which is already equipped with ATO.

  6. Hi, I was wondering, did the (J) and (Z) lines use the newer R160A sets with the new Marc Jacobs ad-wrapped on car body numbers #8409-#8412 and #8453-#8456 yet? I’ve heard that they’ve been using those sets a lot on the (M) line now a days. And, I know that the (J) and (Z) lines usually share the same equipment models with the same, exact body numbers of the R160A sets from the (M) line.

  7. Hey, there. I really hope that you’re safe, sound, healthy and doing well. 👍🏻😊☺️ Btw, I have a question. Since the Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) system is activated on the Independent Subway Train System (IND) Queens Boulevard Line, which is on the (E), (F), <F>(M) and (R) Lines, are the trains still being operated with the dead-man’s switch or does the train operator have to press a button in order for the trains to run automatically, just like how the (7), <7> and the (L) Train does?
