good news, they gave me the class on 2/27 (Sunday).
However, the problem is I can’t do that date. So they’re putting me in for the March class.
Waiting to re-do my drug test now.
I hope by postponing my training I won’t be forfeiting my chances of getting hired. It bothers me that it’s not in writing. Just worried when March comes I’d be denied a spot. =\
@BOO3. Did you get in for exam 2302?

I use corrective lenses and I pass their vision test. If you feel you need better ones then do so.
@andy1. Will they ask you to take your corrective lenses out. Or are you just reading letters from a board?

For a Sleep test ....nope. Their doctor will have to determine that and will give you a slip of what they looking for. Is just time consuming yes, but go with what they tell you.
Physical consist in Electrocardiogram, vision and hearing. So get those glasses check.
Also I'm on "Medical Hold" until I pass.
Hopefully you can get the sleep apnea test done quickly. It shouldn’t set you back that long. Also, I wear glasses. Will that be an issue for me?

Well is like... they ask if you snore? ....And maybe I'm a bit overweight...lol 😆 but I spoke to a guy that works at MTA he said is a thing that Drivers go to now... @Phoenix basically you need to go to a specialist to determine, if you fall in the chart... normal, mild or severe or over -I don't know-. Just don't sleep while driving a bus 😅.
@andy1. I haven’t been called yet. Would it be a good idea if I did a sleep study prior to being called. Just in case they ask for it? Just wondering, because I never went through this process. Not sure what the physical consists of.

At one point I switched many jobs. Will this be a problem when I put my employment history?

All the way back to H.S. I couldn’t remember the dates either. I got a printout from Social Security office. It was 92.00.
Where you able to get it right away or did they have to mail it to you?

Misslo and Kemnedy. Thank you!
Is it hard dealing with HR at the MTA? Do they try to make things difficult or do they work with you?

This is for full time at all the MTA Bus garages. If you voluntarily pick and wasn’t forced into Spring Creek, JFK or Far Rockaway depots, those are the three depots that you will be working out of. Vice versa for the other MTA Bus depots. You go into the remaining MTA Bus depots, you can only work out of those other depots.
As a rookie do get to choose what shift you want or does it go by seniority? Do the shifts rotate.

Final processing is when you are officially hired and are given a date to start the 7-day training course. You will get your pass on orientation day. Your badge you receive after you have completed training and are finally ready to go off on your own (graduation).
I just took the test on 2/2/22. Should I wait for them to tell me my score or is it better to call them and ask. If so, when would it be appropriate to do so?

It’s been a five month wait for me so don’t hold ur breath. My best advice is take the test and then forget about it. Realistically who is truly dying to sit 8 hours a day driving all day, and everyday for the rest of ur life. Zen it…
Do you know how many questions will be on the exam and how long I should expect to be there?

City jobs only go 10 years back.
It would be easy if it was only 10 years. I don’t even remember the names of my supervisors from 20 years ago,lol and I doubt they remember me. I don’t even know who they would be contacting. It is what it is.

Wow, I guess I am going to have to go to social security and get a print out. I am surprised they go that far back.

How far back back does the MTA look at your employment history. I can’t remember exact dates from 20 years ago lol.

it’s not a BOSS test.
How long after taking the exam for B/O does it typically take the MTA to contact you for the next step of the hiring process? I am just trying to get an understanding of the process. I heard that it’s been pretty quick lately due to the shortage.

How do you study for the MTA B/O exam. What material does it cover?
